My baby, Galileo, started coughing on Saturday. I planned on calling the vets this morning to see if they could get us in sometime today. Well, Gali’s breathing at 2:30 this morning woke me up. He sounded like he was snoring loudly. I pet him so he would wake up but his eyes were already open. Of course, I started to panic… his ears were hot like an oven, he was weak, and lethargic. I didn’t sleep very well after that.
Made a call to the vet at 8:00 and they called me back to say bring him right in. This was at 10:00. It’s now 1:40 and we just got home. Xrays were taken, blood drawn, fluids given, antibiotics… a must with a cat with 105 fever. The $300.00 diagnosis is pneumonia or a very long distance chance of it being heart worm.
Can I ask for a few spare prayers for my soul cat? I’m a nervous wreck at the possibility of it being heart worm. There is no treatment for that. He’s never been outside but a mosquito could have brought it in my apartment. Please keep him in your thoughts… I’d be devastated if this long shot chance was really the correct diagnosis. Even if it’s not heart worm, pneumonia is very bad in cats. The vet said it’s touch and go for at least the next 24 hours.
Thanks in advance… I have to keep it together and get back to work now. I really just want to stay home to watch him but I don’t have many days left since I’ve been sick so much this year. I love you guys and know TDK white light will help him pull though this.
