Ok so my 5 week old kitten has had a very picky appetite he’s done wonderfully on kitten formula and has gone potty every time I stimulated him but when I tried to introduce wet food into his diet he refused but then found my deli roat beef and had a ball he’s been pooping normally up until this last week and has only gone once in the last 5 days I’m concerned he may be constipated from the beef but went poop after eating it he’s farel by nature but was found at just under a day old. I need HELP!!! Is he just being stubborn and not wanting to poop on his own or does he still need stimulation?????

He’s only 5 weeks old, and I would still stimulate him, even if it’s just to get him started. Make sure you are using plain, clay, nonclumping, unscented litter while he is learning to use the litter box and learning how to eat. Some kittens have an affection for eating litter and clumping litter isn’t good to ingest as it can cause a blockage. Some cats will refuse to use the box if they don’t like the smell of the litter. So the unscented is best.

I would offer him all kinds of pate’ style wet food, the stinkier the better. Some cats like the gravies, others like pate’ style. But while he’s still little and his teeth are developing, make sure he cannot choke on large pieces of food.

He’s acting completely normal playing and eating every 4-5 hours he uses the litter box to pee and does Great but I stimulated his bottom and nothing happened could he be pooping other places I haven’t smelled anything and his are normally pretty stinky from the formula but he’s eating wet food now would it completely change the smell and I’m just not finding it

It could happen, but highly unlikely if it’s stinky. I’ll post a link for the ‘triangle method’ of stimulating. Once you get a poop, put it in the litterbox and he should get the idea. Also, add a few drops of olive oil to his food or formula to soften things up and get things moving. If you can’t get poop after a few days…call a vet and maybe they can stimulate him or give him an enema.

And after the initial treatment of the triangle method and two more days he is finally pooping on his own I’m so freaking happy I was so worried for a while

YAY!! Once it starts moving, and he’s on wet food, then he will most likely be okay. It takes a minute to get things moving sometimes and his body on a schedule, but sounds like he has done it!
