{{{Pat}}} Godspeed Pat, you are free of pain and can run thru the Meadow with all those who have crossed before you and under the watch of the Wolf. Bless you Leeny for giving her love and true caring for her last weeks here on this plane, she crossed with someone loving her, thank you.

Leeny, I followed your story, from adopting your girls to the sad conclusion of Pat, its really sad and heart breaking, but you should know that you are amazing, for taking them into your house and caring for them , we all do our best for our pets, but sometimes, they are meant to pass from this world,at least Pat went knowing many good times and a great owner and friend.

The vet said that her vomiting blood could have been caused by GI cancer. My feline sister Darlene died of that, and that was the only visible symptom.

I keep thinking of the kittens who were killed at the pound because there was no space and their time was up. If I had adopted a pair of them instead, would they be alive, growing, and thriving? Did I “waste” my cat resources by giving them to someone who was going to be dead in two months anyway?

Kit and Penny are taking turns being Velcro kitties, so I know they’re upset. Now Penny is yakking like it’s her new hobby. It usually involves hairballs, but not always. I noticed this morning that Kit has scratched a sore almost inside her right ear now. Both of them will have to take trips to the new vet. They said it’s not necessary to sedate Penny before going in because the practice owner has worked with lions, tigers, etc., and has a special knack for dealing with fractious cats.

Leeny, I so don’t want to sound preachy, but no one can really know the absolute outcome of any decisions we take. Loving is never “wasteful”. This said, what you’re going through and have gone through over the past two years through just plain sucks. Please take good care of yourself and Penny and Kit. “Owner has worked with lions and tigers”. Interesting.

{{{Leeny}}} I am so sorry to read of Pat’s passing. This must have almost broken your heart but in the time you had Pat you made her happy and gave her so much love. She has that love with her over the Bridge and will return it at a later date.

Today I got Pat’s pawprint from the vet clinic. I’ll get a frame for it, and it will join the other three already on my mantle. Bryson died at my brother’s house, and I didn’t get one for Tigeranne for reasons I’ve already discussed. Tigeranne is right behind me on my bookshelf, though.
