    Well, Regardless. We’ve got the vet visit scheduled for this monday, and we’ll get whatever taken care of that we can. I might ask the vet about re-infesting, and do my best to keep it from happening. :/ As long as she can reach the 2-4 month mark, we can start her on her regular shots and everything else will fall into place.

    She’s a really fantastic little girl, I don’t want anything bad to happen to her!!

    LilBean is a trooper. If she has (most likely) worms the dewormer meds. will get rid of them. She won’t get re-infesting unless she comes in contact with another cat that has worms. Sometimes, if her wet food is left out for too long it lets maggots to nest.

    Don’t worry (yeah, right), she’s doing fine. If you decide to get her playmate, make sure it’s healthy before introductions.

    PG that’s actually what’s got us so worried :/ She hasn’t been in contact with any cats that we know of, and I haven’t been allowing any of the semi-ferals into the house either since we picked her up.

    Unfortunately, since apparently the worms take about three weeks to manifest after ingestion, it wouldn’t remotely surprise me that the few fleas we’d seen before her first two Dawn baths infected her and it just didn’t show on the testing. Since then, however, she’s had a dewormer.

    So this whole situation’s just left me concerned and confused. :/ At least it’s only another three days, and she’s still looking healthy enough, if a bit narrower in the hips {MIGHT be my imagination?} and a bit warmer to the touch {snuggling up in her playpen and active as hell…?}

    Just got back from the vet!!

    So, baby definitely does have tapeworms, but according to the fecal test, that’s the ONLY worms she has! So as soon as she’s done with her antibiotics she should be a healthy kitty! The vet told us she most likely will have very very minor vision issues if she’s got them at all, and to keep an eye on how her depth perception progresses. If she has major issues finding her way, we’ll just have to be careful how high her tree is and what she’s given for toys. He’s not too worried, though.

    She had her second dewormer, first round of vaccs, and her very first flea control today! Two shots, three oral doses, and a skin treatment along with the fecal test.

    Poor girl was NOT PLEASED AT ALL by the tube up her tiny baby butt. :/ She was a grumpy girl all the way home, and started thrusting her little arms out of her carry box the last few miles of the drive, letting us know how very not pleased she was. She’s since been fed and put into her playpen in her nice, dark cat room with the fan on. She’s going to be pretty sore and pissy today, but it’s alright.

    She’s on her way to being PROPERLY HEALTHY.

    Awww Kincaid, poor lil Bean. BUT you know it’s the best thing for her, to be healthy on top of being so well loved. It’s so much better to put them through a little discomfort, than to watch them suffer through an illness that we could have prevented with a vaccination. Distemper is an AWFUL disease to see in progress. 😥 Too many times when lovely folks decide that I need yet another cat to add to my country menagerie, they deliver near death cats or ones that are destined to die horrible deaths. By the time I get them, it’s too late. Many times I have just sat outside with them and held them so they are not alone.

    Lil Bean may be sleepy or drowsy most of the day, but tomorrow she will be feeling fine. At least, that’s been my experience. Just watch her injection sites, as they might be a little sore. 🙂

    Thanks, Zee!

    I’ve just been so exhausted that I haven’t been keeping up with much around the house… I feel awful, since our relationship agreement was basically that I don’t have to work so long as the upkeep is maintained and everything gets done. Still, my Love has been taking excellent care of Baby AND me, and encourages me to get my rest whenever possible until the lil one gets old enough to be more independent and self-reliant.

    He actually came in after work and loved on me until I woke up enough to say hello and told me he’d taken care of the kitten and everything was fine. He turned off my alarm too, so I wouldn’t be woken up til I was ready… I’m a damn lucky dude 🙂

    We decided on Lilith after much deliberation for baby girl, and usually she just goes by Lili, Lili-girl, or fuzzbutt. She was MOST unimpressed by the vet, but calmed down after a few hours in her playpen. She ate fairly well; 14.7Tb for the day; and was snuggled up to me for about an hour while I read after finally waking up around 10.

    It’s about 2a here now, and I’m heading back to bed as soon as I pack a lunch for the Mister. We’re all pretty worn out by today, but at least there was no real cause for concern. Just the usual kitten troubles rescues face.

    Tks for purry update Kincaid!

    I’m very much liking Lilith (as if it matters LOL.) Interesting story about the actual woman. Plus main character (Lilith Le Fay Morgan) of two fave books of all time. “Sea Priestess” and “Moon Magic”. Both by legendary mystic/psychotherapist Dion Fortune. Actually I’ve read all of her fiction. 🙂

    I LOVE the name!! Very feminine for a sweet little girl cat!

    Yes, you ARE one lucky dude, and what a loving, considerate partner you have! Take care, get your rest and give that kitten a tummy snorfle from me!

    We were POSITIVE she was gonna hate it, so it barely made the last list, but lo and behold~ Can’t wait to get her tags after her next round of vaccines!! 😀

    I spent all of today NOT in the gym, making kitten toys. A cute red fleece mouse toy, and a long cotton-print squid. She immediately started playing with the mouse and dragged it off and away under the recliner.

    When presented with the squid her eyes got big and round, ears laid back, and she POUNCED! Grabbed it right around the middle, and started kicking away happily as she gnawed on it’s “Face.” I’ve never been so proud!!

    Well Kincaid,

    You’ve got your priorities right! Although I would probably have gone to the gym and made cat toys and done a bunch of other things, but that’s my modus vivendi LOL.

    With the toy success you might find yourself a business start-up. And Miss Lilith could be the spokeskit. I’m good at finding things for other peeps to do! 😉

    lol~ Well, I DID go to the gym, just not as long as usual. {I average about an hour and a half, but was only there about 40 minutes.} Our local Pride parade is in a few weeks, so it’s the last desperate push for extra tone ha

    I was a bit of a whirlwind afterwards, cleaning up the guest bathroom I claimed for my own and doing a rather large amount of dishes. {My Love takes the master bathroom for his, and I have the one across the house. Keeps all our various products separate, and gives both of us heaps more counter space! Also means no one’s fighting for a mirror in the morning…}

    I thought about it for all of a moment, and then realized how many threads were already coming off the Squid this morning. Next time, I’ll do better with the fabric choices, and turning my edges! 😳
