“Remember, dear, you will see her again, just like the Wolf says,” whispers Squasha to her darling new friend.
Duchess nods. She remembers her mama’s sweet face, then dreamless sleep, and then awakening in the Meadow, cradled in the paws of the great Wolf of Gubbio. She hears the Wolf’s deep rumbling welcome again, and Duchess smiles.
The old life is over. The new Life is here. She will wait for her Caroline.
And she is in the Meadow now, sitting next to her new best friend Squasha. Two lovely white cats, resting together, sniffing the sweet air, reveling in their new young bodies and their sweet spirits, all in this part of Paradise.
