Comely kitty wenches have adorned the hall with various Cats of Arms; The café castle’s lord is none other than King Arth-Purr aided by his erstwhile comrade-in-paws Sir Pounce-alot. In place of dishes and cutlery there are trenchers and one’s fingers. The menu is writ in Old English, but the wenches and gallant silvery-fur-coated Kits in Shining Armor will bring whatever M’Lord or M’Lady desires – plus lots of ale! And for your viewing pleasure enjoy the “improved” illuminated manuscript from Les Très Riche Heures du Duc de Purry, an “improved” artwork by Purr-Raphaelite artist and medieval wanna-be Edward Purrne-Jones and Sir “What’s-His-Name”. I believe I’ll warm up with some mulled wine.

Good morning KJ, wow the Cafe looks amazing with all those cats of arms. Love the pics too.
I’ll have a mug of hot chocolate with some spices please. (In reality I have the hot chocolate and a handful of strawberries).
I’m just checking to see how Merry Ole England is doing with the hurricane hitting them and hoping PM will post soon. She’s probably sound asleep though. Oh at least two storm related deaths and one person washed out to sea. Not good.

@ 04:10 MST, Waves @ KJ, Jan and Kilroy 🙂

Didn’t realize that a new Cafe had been opened, this format makes it harder to notice without really looking that a new link has been opened.

Plus I have been caught up in searching for ancestors in ancestry.com it is addictive…

Good morning! Thought I’d pop in and say hi while I drink my morning shake. Hubby and I have gotten into making shakes in the blender. Never thought I’d enjoy it because I prefer to actually chew my food, not drink it. But they make me feel great and keep me full longer than what I used to eat (and I always tried to eat a breakfast with plenty of fiber and protein).

Hope you all are well. I lurk, but I’m noticing it is a bit harder to see what all the threads are. Can you see what all the recent threads are without clicking on different categories?

Eta….think I figured out the thread thing.

OK here goes, Good morning all from where its freezing, but nothing compared to what they’re getting in UK. So wishing that there was some way of pm’ing a moderator as per other sites (or the only other one that occasionally I post to) but this is not unfluffy, just a tad more “serious”. As I’ve said before I realize that I am the “new kit on the block” just about the only new registrant posting. I am not looking to change traditions, but they seem to be long held as gleaned from my Q on how “TDK” started. I enjoy opening themed cafés, because creativity is well, what I do. But if as Deb noted it makes the site more complicated I can back off. I know from my BFF who’s on FB that replies are intermittent depending on what the group interests are at the time. I did try to open a Night Shift Office this wknd to be told by a long-standing member whom I had not seen in the posts usually does this. So I guess that I apologized and felt a bit stupid that there were 2 Shifts opened. All this is to say that lest anyone think otherwise I do have a “life” and as with others, at times it seems like “too much of a life”, ergo wanting to be somewhere where it is “fluffy” and open to all who want in. There is a vast backstory and too often I feel that I am so to speak stepping on other’s paws. I do not be meowing, I am more of a forthright purrson. I do not need my “paw held” or “strokes”. But if this it is preferred that “TDK” remain a closed-in group, just let me know. This seems like such a bright friendly group from all over the world so I felt that I wanted to express myself rather than just walking (pouncing?) away. Tks for any input.

My bro Rick would sing this around Halloween, thanks for the memories!

    Now I need a cuppa joe & back I go to continue w/part 1 day 1!

Waves & wishes for all to have a better than expected MOanday! Now a smooch for Tux, later kits!

Hello and welcome KJ!!!!! It happens all the time that two of us start a “night shift, “café”, etc. Please don’t feel that way, as you are very welcome here and we are glad to have you on board. Yes, it is true… “TDK” IS the fluffiest place on the internet. 🙂 Anyone is welcome to start a thread here. Sorry if you feel that it is a closed group. This is simply not true. We have ALL been “The new kid on the block” at one time. 🙂 So, sorry honey…..
You did a lovely café today! Thanks. We love creativity here! LOVE those kitty pictures too!!!

    Morning JK! *waving*

Hey, KJ, no biggie – it’s usually whoever gets around to starting a cafe/lounge/night shift thread first. Sometimes more than one starts, either because the other isn’t seen or it happens close to the same time – great minds think alike! Sometimes people hang out at the previous one as part of an ongoing conversation. Anywho, the Medieval Cafe is adorable!

Hiya BB – you snuck in while I was typing! Yes it is a beautiful day. A tad chilly as there was frost on the pumpkin, but a beautiful, crisp fall day!

LOL Joan! I slept until 9:45 so have NO idea if there was frost on the pumpkin or not. 🙂 Working yesterday really wiped me out…. SO glad I can rest today. I can take my time doing some odds and ends. Hope work goes well for you……

KJ, I did not mean to make you feel like you shouldn’t open themed Cafes, not at all. We have done themed Cafes and links for ages. Its just with this new format it is harder to see what is being responded too currently, unless you look at the top right side and see who has signed on or replied to what, sometimes its hard to see when anyone has opened something, requested info or what have you.

Really didn’t think I was being mean or anything but who knows I guess I was without realizing it. Sorry if I offended you KJ, your Cafes with the pictures have been very nice.

Morning everyone I have missed, its almost my relief time…yay!

Well it was more of a rough morning than a rough night. By 6.00am the wind was strong enough to shake the house as gusts buffetted us and then at 7.00 the power went off. Were were without electricity for 7 hours, but it came back on at about 2.00pm. Luckily I have a gas cooker and the grill and hob continue to function even in a power cut, and with two open fires as well we were absolutely fine.

It was odd seeing the trees and shrubs being pounded by the high winds, whilst clouds were moving at normal pace across the blue sky.

I haven’t inspected the roof for slipped tiles, but we do not appear to have suffered any real damage anywhere in house or garden.

Hi PM! Thanks for checking and I’m glad you are okay. A shaking house is no fun; last year a few of those 90 mph gusts shook my house and it was indeed frightening.

Good morrow, gentle kits and kitlets. I also rose a little later, so if frost there was, I missed it. I did take the camera with me when I went to fetch the paper, to take some pics of fall colored trees shining in the sun. Doth the Café extend to coffee this morning? Not sure when beans were first brought to Merrie Old England. If not, bring on the ale! (for breakfast? yikes! won’t get much done today…)

AZDeb (and whomever) re: figuring out which threads are where, etc.: this is one of the benefits I have found in the “Show Me What’s Happening” button at the top of the screen. It’s organized by time, most recent posts first, and shows who posted, and where. You’re right, the What’s Going On and Most Recent Posts banners on the right hand side, don’t always capture everything. With the Show Me listing, I can scroll down to my own last post, and everything above it will be new (to me), so I’ll check in on the various threads to see what I missed.
