This “Special Day” is meant to encourage creativity. Or, purrhaps just acquire a new house flag and run it up the flagpole to see if anyone salutes … or even notices LOL.

This is Fry. He fell asleep saluting.

    Hi Efurryone,

I gotta say this is a tough topic. The pool is closed today so I’m on my stationary bike. Wee

    Here’s my 2.5 cents:

    And just because it’s Monday:

    Cya l8r and have a happy~

A very challenging theme to find apurr-opriate pics for. Now you know why I earn the big bucks! Hehehe ๐Ÿ˜‰

Like this PG? How dare they close the pool when you want to swim!

Kit don’t look none too happy either! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well today we had a substitute instructor for the listed substitute instructor as her plane back from vaca was delayed. Not huge prob I just turned up my wkt a notch – or several. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Those who know my penchant for cooking – as not – might be proud of the eggplant parmesan adapt that I just made to freeze. had all the ingredients – ‘cept the eggplant – and that was an easy fix.

Back to knitting and looks like latest sweater will not meet self-imposed deadline, as I lost quite a bit of tangled yarn and have to order more when online shoppe re-opens tomorrow. Darry played no part in this minor fiasco. It’s almost finished anyway, just a tad frustrating. ๐Ÿ™„

    Fry fell asleep saluting, adorable!
Watching the Tournament of Roses parade. The floats and bands are awesome, and of course I enjoy looking for twirlers!
It’s a raw and rainy day here in Jersey, with some sleet thrown in on occasion. The wood burner, of course, feels great. Leela just got up and went upstairs, so Mac is enjoying the front seat. Comet made a new nest; he found a basket of hats, gloves, leg warmers, etc. in the closet that is the purrfect size for him. Plus Mac hasn’t found him, so that’s a big plus too!

Oh no! *Smacks self on head* At least I’m not slated to be whipped with a cat-o’-nine-tails! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ There’s only a cat-o’-one-tail here. As Dorry. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For how long am I confined to the corner??? It was not an intentional error.

Ola everyone and happy new year! Relaxing on this holiday, made a big pot of chicken /lemon/orzo soup …… finished my Gasparilla decorating today, even my iron ballerina is wearing beads! And Son’s huge model mothership is front center on the dining table! Love this time of year

Ok you get out of the corner, KJ.

Tks PG! Hard to knit or do much of anything else when confined to the corner. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Which reminds me. Back in 1st grade a boy was sent to the corner and spanked ’til he was crying or at least his face got all red. In front of the entire class. At least his pants were not down. By now he might be a CEO, but that’s what comes to mind when I think of him, as at one point his Mom and I worked for same company. Nowadays this would constitute abuse – and rightfully so.

Well I believe that some of us apurr-ciate srs rock (KZ, JJ, PG, more???)

Watched an awesome doc entitled “Twenty Feet from Stardom.” It’s about the back-up singers, history of, lifestyle, etc. I’ve had fantasies about being back-up singer: I thought: glamour, no pressure, good money. Wrong. They don’t get paid all that much, it’s hard getting gigs. The dancing I could manage, the singing, well I don’t have much power in that area, one has to be able to belt it out.

So here’s the earworm I’ve been inundated with since:
Forget Sir Mick, forget Keef, just check out the super-fab Lisa Fischer! I salute her!

Here I was all set to watch that video KJ, and it says it’s not available to watch in my country! What the?!!! Bummer…. ๐Ÿ˜†

Well my visits to the cafe this last few days have been few and far between. I have missed being here, and have been trying to keep up on reading the threads even if I haven’t posted. Avery should be coming tomorrow, so back to the workday grind.

My surgery is coming up in about 3 weeks, and am nervous but ready to get this over with. My mobility is seriously threatened and this can’t happen soon enough now.

JJ, why is it cats find the strangest places to lay? I had washed all the bedding the other day, and after taking the mattress cover out of the dryer, just laid it on the floor. I walked into the laundry room and saw the cover wiggling furiously–Thumbalina had buried herself in it and couldn’t find her way out again. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ She had to be rescued. Poor baby!! ๐Ÿ˜›

Weird re vid KZ. It’s usually here that vids are not available. Purrhaps this version will work as it’s done by some guy and not a record company:

Understandable that you’re nervous re surgery. But sounds like you got the scheduling sorted out. And while it’s srsly tough to go through, in a few months (I’d assume) your new “bionic” hip will feel fine as in you won’t be aware of it at all, and the pain that you’ve been living with will be a faint memory. And if you need support/just to talk, you know that TDK’s the place to come. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the reassurance KJ, I greatly appreciate it! You would not believe what I went through this last week with scheduling–you most of all would be proud of my ‘assertiveness’!! Now I am waiting for the new hospital to call me to schedule preadmission testing and physical therapy stuff. If they don’t call, I will have to see what this same scheduler is or is not doing. I really didn’t think she was inept, but I’m beginning to wonder…..

    Now to watch that video!!

Woooooooooo that was a good video! Yes, Lisa ROCKS!

And I will be here after surgery looking to talk and basking in the cafe where the kits can take care of me should need be. I can’t WAIT to get up and moving again with my new bionic-ness!!

Your Son’s model mothership is on the table? Do send a pic if you can, AV. My iron ballerina always wears beads – ๐Ÿ˜†

    Love the Vid, thanks!

I’m glad you’re finally getting the surgery. It’s always scary but you’ll be up and about in no time. My LilBit is like Thumbelina – always getting into stuff and than :-o.

The cold wind has whipped up and by Thursday our low is -3f/-19c with a high is all the way to 12f/-11c.

PG, we’re slated for similar weather same time this week. Probably even lower temps. The “Force 10” down coat, wool cowl, gloves topped by mitts and thickly lined high boots will be on the runway. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh, and thick tights and srs wool sweater that’s so woolly it has to be worn with long-sleeved warm wear so as to save skin from its inherent itch factor. I think that I have my plan in place. Headed off to bed, l8r than planned but at least it’s not o’dark thirty as is often the case. *Sigh*
