Today, we recognize and show appreciation for the value of our seniors. Including Senior Kitties, who often get overlooked.

Believe me this happens and a lot sooner than you expect.

I’m thinking I’m not old either…I’m crispy! ๐Ÿ˜† Well I guess by society’s standards that I qualify as being a senior citizen…when in the hell did THAT happen? I just told my sister the other day about going to the fair and she asked me if I got in for free on ‘senior day’…and I told her it never entered my mind since I don’t consider myself a senior citizen. She thought that was funny…. ๐Ÿ˜ It is what it is I guess, but so many don’t have the privilege of getting older, so I’m going to enjoy it!

Going to take the granddaughters out for lunch today since school starts on Wednesday for them. They are not happy. While we are out and about may even shop for a special back to school top for them, then we will swing by and pick up my little Peso–he is having his neuter surgery today. I miss him terribly! He has the biggest personality and when he isn’t here, you know it! And he will be so hungry too, poor little mite.

My niece started her sophomore year on Friday. It was the walk around like zombies and find classrooms, blah, blah, blah. Z started on August 11th. They’re in the same district and still don’t start school on the same day. I just don’t get it.

I hope you and granddaughters have a good afternoon out.

Poor Peso but it’s for his health and your peace of mind. So many men think neutering is a bad thing but I know quite a few that could benefit from it. Sorry-wrong soapbox ๐Ÿ˜‰

Paw up waves, turning MOanday into fun day…almost lunchtime too!

    Adding my 2.5 cents worth:
    Senior cats are te best
    Great FYI on Senior Felines!

    I can agree with that!
My kit Lucky is around 13-15 yrs young! Besides being my fluffer butt bestie he is loyal, mellow, fun luving and just purrfect as pet and bro in fur to younger diva Scoot!
    Luck & Scoot snoozing
Doing what they know how to do best…from vaca Up North ๐Ÿ˜‰

    OK…time for my li’l lunchtime walk…later!

Hi all – aside from foster kittens, senior kitties are expected to be the norm here, including future generations.

Yea, the senior citizen status came from nowhere. I’m happy there are lots of things I’m too young for though!

Poor Peso, and poor granddaughters too! I’m sure Peso’s day at the spa will be a distant memory soon and wish the girls a great school year.

Took Comet to the vet this morning for a booster shot of Convenia. He hasn’t sneezed in almost 2 weeks so I’m happy to report he seems to be feeling fine! He got a serving of kitten food when we got home.

If G-d forbid anything happens to Dorry, it’s an older kit for me, ie not 20 yrs old, but not a kitten, ie like 2-4 yrs and pawsibly black. Don’t want to thing about this though.

Played 80s oldies in DIY spin class where I workout harder than in almost every group class. Same deal tomorrow at like 6:30 am due to appt. Only will have to use FM radio as newish CD player died. Ordered new one on ebay (never done this before.) 2ndhand but tested, I’ll check it out when it arrives. At least it’s a Sony Walkman – diff to find anywhere and seller/model has purrfect reviews. Fave (toughest) spin instructor asked to borrow my CD so that she can burn it for class use. Def! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been having diff time getting on site, loads real slow to get on and to access forums. Anyone else? PM’d KM re issue.

OK pleeze allow me to vent and I’ll try to keep it brief.

The CD quitting on me stress (should be worst prob!)

On way home discovered purrfect solid wood rocker (today’s theme, interesting). Way heavy. Banged lower shin, bruised like mini-egg. Arnica/ice/srs wrapping = much better. Speaking with physio tonite anyway (1x/wk deal.)

From how I carried the thing I’m covered in bruises. My forearms look like those of a junkie!!! But I bruise extremely easily, know why and nothing for it. My shoulders ache some from that and over-knitting over past few days. However Colonial style chair in bdrm is now way more comfy office area char and rocker is in brdrm (req’d just a major cleaning and some touch-ups, ie nail or 2, bit of paint.)

So appt tomorrow is major stressor as per how it always is. Someone I speak to after had to go out of town for wk, thankfully she will be available to talk on phone.

At present I’m trying to megadose water as med prof I spoke to re stress over appt reminded me that I don’t want to get into situation where I have to take potassium as “reward” for my screw-up. The stuff messes with guts big-time which I cannot afford. Feel like I want to spend rest of day in “throne” room. TMI

And just a min ago, as I was touching up rocking chair a bit more, I’d left water on in bthrm sink. Wet p. towels blocked drain ergo a teensy flood. More p. towels, bathmat and thick gym towel did the job! Lucky for me I caught it at outset. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

So need to get through tomorrow. And ideally be in bed 10 pm latest. Time for a good cry. Tks for letting me get it out kits. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Awww KJ,,,girl I’m sorry you are so stressed out. I’ll be sending white light and vibes your way and you know you can always ‘talk it out’ on TDK, where we are always listening and have probably been there too at one time or another.

Poor Peso, he is feeling so funky. Not only did he get his neuter surgery today, but I had them check his right ear as he had been head shaking and upon examining it, had some crusty stuff in there. Well, he has a full blown ear infection in one ear, I have drops and also an antibiotic for that. Then of course, he got his shot boosters (which make him feel awful) and he just sits and looks so awful. He has been eating though, which is his favorite past time. Hopefully, he will feel better tomorrow once the anesthetic wears off and the shots and all he is dealing with is a distant memory of this day. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get him into a cat carrier in a couple of weeks to get his ear rechecked! ๐Ÿ˜†

Sorry KJ and Peso! Smiles and hugs from me and my gang. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yea for Comet! I’m sure he doesn’t like feeling bad.

This afternoon I wasn’t able to open the page from my Search engine. Thanks for contacting KM.

Yes, thanks for contacting KM, I have been having trouble for quite a while. It’s a big reason I haven’t commented much because it takes almost 5 minutes between threads…on all my different devices.

Good morning from a crispy MS. ๐Ÿ˜†
We had a cold night but today the sun has come to shine on us, doors and windows open and HRH has even been exploring through the grass(must ring the lawn man). Currently she is sprawled on the deck drying off her dangly underparts(sporran) that got wet in the grass.
Loving all the pics today. I hope we can be as positive and and laugh as we ascend into our senior years.
KZ, eventually your sister will be able to get in free on senior days too unless she has already reached there. Ohhhhhh gentle head bonks for Peso on his spa day. Hope your afternoon with the girls went well.
Just remembered that HRH is a senior kitty too at 15 almost 16 years old.
JJ, I find it interesting that Comet needs a booster shot, HRH does too and she is getting Convenia too. Of course after I mentioned yesterday that HRH is no longer turning her nose up at her food she did precisely that at dinner. I did not give in to her and after going outside into the dark for most of the evening she shot in the door and cleaned her plate of the beef/lamb mix of raw meat then launched herself into Daddy’s for cuddles.
KJ, oh no, not the new CD player gone phut, I hope you can get one that last much longer. I too have had some trouble some days getting TDK pages to open, they are so slow loading that I close them and try again. Strange goings on.
Ouch on the bruising but the chair sounds great – worth the bruises maybe? May tomorrows meeting go well.
Oh no a flood too. May your day get better.
Poor Peso, he must feel lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut at the moment. So glad you asked them to check his ear. Gentle cuddles for him. Maybe some nip tomorrow might help lift his mood.

KZ, hope that Peso is recovered and up to his usual shenanigans in record time! While I have a carrier that opens from the top, suitcase style, I have been told that a plan might be to turn a reg style carrier on its side, lift kit and place him inside, as opposed waiting for kit to agree to go in of his own volition.

JJ, gr8 that shot helped Comet. Kitty food as reward for diff time? Yes!

Proactive being my modus vivendi I sent KM 2 emails re what seems to be slowed down site, same prob as you KZ. He must have taken note as site seems to be working better now.

    Tks guys,
Had promised good cry. Then long chat with physio and then with Nadine. Getting ready for bed then heading into tomorrow.

MS, the new rocker is awesome! I figure it’s solid srs wood when it’s way heavier than anything has a right to be. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been having the same s – l – o – w issues as others – it takes so long to post a comment that I tend to go elsewhere while the typist is finding the keys!

But with the comments above I shall try again – and see if anything has speeded up now.

Hmmm . . . still not exactly speedy, but that one did post in less than two minutes. Which is better. Thank you!
