Since they made their first appearance in the Garden of Eden snakes have been slithering around. This connection with evil gave them a bad reputation, and perhaps that’s why so many people are afraid of them. Purrsonally I think that snakes are kewel and their colours and patterns are awesome!

    SNAKES ! ! 😮

No snakes in NZ, not even in zoos. Only snakes that come here arrive in shipping containers and are soon caught and euthanised humanely.

Good morning – no snakes in NZ? Interesting. I don’t understand snakes, so in true human nature form, I’m afraid of them. Unlike many animals that run away when they see/feel human footsteps, a snake will move in any direction. They are fascinating to watch, however, and agreeing with KJ, their skin patterns and colors are beautiful.
Sister’s flight was canceled due to storms, do she’s here an extra day.
Wow it’s a hot and humid day here in Jersey. Maybe I’ll serve ice cream for dinner!

You eat mice wholly? and call poison control. 😆

Snakes are cool and very necessary to our environment. Except for Black Mambas and King Cobras, people who get bite often harass the snakes. The black mamba’s reputation is not undeserved. “Black mambas are extremely toxic and very fast snakes,” Viernum said. They are highly aggressive when threatened, “known to strike repeatedly and to give pursuit when angry. King Cobras will strike but, once again, only when they are interrupted. Snakes generally won’t give chase because it wastes energy and they can’t wholly consume you.

I was a docent at the Rio Grande Biopark in Albuquerque. My two fave areas were cats and the Herpetarium.

Another exciting day is upon us. Have a happy~

Hee hee….best one IMHO is last I became snake cat – 😀
Looks kinda lake a melted cat – which is what our current weather has done to my lil kittehs too!
Luck usual sits under the fan and now even Kiki tries to catch a breeze near by too – smart kits. Diva Scoot has one in her window which is a fave spot to sit near by too!

Not a fan of snakes – but remember growing up our cat/s would try to attack the grass snakes Up North LOL!

Here’s my 2.5 cent worth today:

    Different version of “snakes”!

    Now some coffee…later/hopeful!

All the pics are fab. Esp Mittens, Humphrey and yeah the self-poisoning snake!

Beyond heat wave here – but I don’t mind! Not so long as I come home to A/C and no humidity!

JJ, extended vaca with sis JRoc! Kewel! But hope her hometown was not affected by storms.

MS, this might be off-base Q – I think snakes are considered endangered species – but seeing as they are PTS in NZ 😥 – I respect the country’s eco regulations – but can so-called “illegal” items be made from snakeskin? Like purses, shoes, belts. This way some part of them could be used while their souls slither through the RB. Just a thought.

I do have kewel faux snakeskin sandals, belts and a bag with the trim.

Anyone recall those kitschy Westerns where someone gets poisonous snakebite and someone else has to suck the venom out? Similar flicks generally feature some surgery without anaesthetic ‘cept slug of whisky, or bullet or leather strap to bite down on. 😉

Here’s a fun thing! My stylist (who did his excellent purrfect cut) had a pr of tiny padded cycle shorts (like the “serious” outdoor bikers wear) given to him for his ongoing Sunday garage sale. So he gave them to me. Never worn these before but along with my padded bike seat they should help when called into service efurry so often. Black with red narrow piping going down side of legs. and checked online, Italian brand goes for $130 and up USD! I like to pay like $20 tops for gym gear.

Wiped and not at the same time. Trying to keep calm and collected prior to tomorrow’s stress-laden appt. Doesn’t help that my MD and I will never be BFFs in this world, we just don’t connect. But she is thank G-d an expert and that’s the most important thing. But nurse is there and she is awesome, as in she speaks to MD beforehand and I can call her as needed. Ideally we can do something re my ongoing or so issues.

I was a good grrl and drank more today – Perrier! Truly it is heat stroke weather.

Very late in today, but it’s hot and muggy here too. We did have a shower this afternoon and I believe that it’s supposed to cool off some mid week.

I love the pics….the melty cat and the kitten passed out are adorable. I’m not afraid of snakes, in fact I actually like them around my house and gardens. I would not feel that way if we had any that were poisonous, I’m sure. I rescued two little garter snakes that got caught up in a net that I put over my pond one fall to keep the leaves out. The netting was small and they couldn’t pull their heads back out, so I got them out and released them into the pasture by the creek so they could get a drink there. I don’t like it when my two outside cats kill them. They are great rodent control, so I won’t let Mr. KZ poison the rodents either. Call me strange, but I’d rather see a mouse in the house than smell a dead one in my wall. 😳

JK, I can still remember the smell of those snakes. We thought they were neato too.
There was a nest of snakes in the storage area next to our outdoor fireplace a few years ago. Had to find a new hiding place for the spare house key! I am sure they are helping the cats keep the rodents under control.
Jroc has landed and is currently on the shuttle for the home stretch. Her cat Kallie will be happy to see her. A fun visit that as always, went by too fast!

KZ, there is a serious sale on Hyba (Reitmans) fitness stuff on now.

What on earth is outdoor cycling? Almost all cycling is outdoor, except in very large buildings such as airports, warehouses and giant Dutch greenhouses. Spinning is another, perfectly legitimate, sport; cycling is a means of transport above all.

If one is cycling all day or more, thouse padded shorts are useful, though I hate them. I do have a pair, though it isn’t used often. And always under a skirt.

San Pelligrino here. Much more calcium than Perrier. On sale at Métro this week!

I did wear my silver-tone viper bangle today! And my snake earrings! Without contemplating the Special Day! Plan to wear the bangle again tomorrow. Also have silver-tone bangle with rhinestone eyes. And plain silver-tone snake earrings. And ring with black eyes and spotted finish. Guess jewellery-wise I am an ophiophilist (purrson who loves snakes) new word for me! 😎

And I feel sorry for “misunderstwood” snake. So pretty! Once went to n’hood street festival where one booth had wide variety of snakes in order to demystify peep’s fears. The boa constrictor – mega huge and needs to eat a lot to keep it’s buff shape!

Lagatta, you keep mixing me up with KZ, who I don’t think will be shopping at Reitman’s, seeing as she lives in US. 😉

Do I check out this sale? Hmmm … now where would I put more gym gear.

Should check out San Pellegrino, I could certainly use all the calcium that I can find! Could enhance with juice as I also like Perrier orange fizz.

I do like the shorts and need all the padding that I can get, lacking the padding that nature provides. 😉 As in if I forget my saddle pad and the gym loaner is N/A I can’t do the class. 😮

Spinning at times is also called indoor cycling, to differentiate from the genuine mode of transit that you describe. For sure the bikes are entirely different, but depending on the class style instructors can mimic a ride, ie hills, flat roads, speed, etc. My preference is a mode called at my gym “Rhythm Ride” which includes some upper body and core work, dance type moves, and standing, at times hands-free, very difficult. NYC has classes that are totally choreographed! Some cohorts who ride outdoors have told me that spinning is harder than cycling outdoors ’cause we have ability for high resistance, high speed, no traffic rules – and no potholes! Over the years I’ve done most every type of gym workout – spinning is the most challenging!

    Good afternoon.
Just made a batch of Limondcello meringues as I had a couple of egg whites left over from lemon curd making the other day.
    JK, interesting snake firework.
KJ, snakeskin products are legal as long as they have been properly and commercially made and the skins bear nothing that could carry disease but not from any hapless snake that has to be euthanised when entering illegally.
JJ, I remember when you found he nest of snakes under a tarp or something a few years ago.
We have a clear fine breezey day and the washing line is full and there is a lot of flapping going on. Bliss after the wet several weeks we have had.
