Ideally we will have as little to do with surgery as possible. Still, those hard-working peeps play a very important role when a patient’s comfort and life is in their hands (though hopefully not in their paws!) And they deserve our acclaim.

    For KJ – http://wit-knits.tumblr.com/
There are quite a few famous faces you may spot once you stop laughing.
Remember the sweet Christmas vid I posted a day or so ago -here’s a different take on it.

Are these the luckiest or unluckiest cows?

MS, that vid – What can I say without getting political and breaking TDK rules – highly creative! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Those poor stranded cows – hope they get rescued.
As for those knitting patterns – ROTFL -very 80s – don’t think that I will be sourcing out the book, although did wear my new b-friend sweater to Knitting Circle and was told, “It’s a b-friend sweater!” It got the thumbs up!
I do have an 80s sweater bk that I got at a book sale and while most of them are “sad” one of the patterns is pure classic and has been made, a cardigan. It is slated to be done up at some point in a tweedy yarn with purrhaps fox or owl buttons. ‘Cause a classic is just that!
Now that wee kit nestled in that cable blankie – squeeeee!!!!!
My latest sweater is sorta that texture and shade, a bit darker though. But that blankie looks so complicated that by the time I’d finish it that wee kit would be teenage kitty! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Arnica is def my friend. Left msg for physio. She’ll get back to me when she has opp. A bit better thank G-d. Off to gym for DIY class.

Good morning – operating room nurses are awesome! They are often the last face one sees before drifting off to lala land.
It is a beautiful fall day here in Jersey, with a bit of much needed rain on the way tomorrow. I’ve got Dewey in the house and am trying to keep him in as he has an appointment this afternoon. To the vet, this is a foster cat that is adoptable, which he is and he is! Of course we all know I would foster all six of them for the rest of their lives.

Awww, such sweet pics! JJ, I hope Dewey gets the thumbs up and a little antibiotics will clear him up. And I know that if there is no one who wants a sneezy, snotty cat–well, I know a few of us who do!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

And as for the theme today, I will be making friends with OR nurses before you know it–but I know lots of nurses since working in EMS, and I can tell you they are most underappreciated!! Love their dedication and professionalism always.

Beautiful fall day here too, with no rain expected until Saturday I believe. Mr. KZ mowed leaves while waiting for the OSU vets to show up and look at some calves that are less than wonderful. Snotty noses and such–but that’s what you get when you buy at a stockyard auction. ๐Ÿ˜•

Afternoon all! …. we used to have quite a few nurses on TDK …. honor to all of them!
Today was the first day that felt like fall to me … kinda overcast and cooler …. a nice change!
I’m happy to report that the new pond residents seem to be thriving …. They look so tiny compared to the other ones, but I know they’ll grow …. a new cycle of life begins …

Time for me to wrap things up, I think we’ll go out to eat tonight, I just don’t feel like cooking … besides, we need a run to Sam’s club …. L8R all!

    Hi all!

KZ, I’ve been told that if one wants faster attention from nursing staff having a box of candy or choco on hand and offering one doesn’t hurt. Or just being plain nice – which is a natural for you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I know some nurses too and they tend to get the c**p end of the deal.

A quartet of kits, JJ? Purrhaps? But you do so much already and I’m sure that the outdoor crew appreciates it, but you know, with kits, everything seems to be a “given.”

Av, glad that as you phrase it your “wet kits” are settling in. C an you tell them apart (except for Big Hazel) and do they all have names? IMHO a living creature is just that – be it furred/finned/feathered. And deserve care. Snakes rock too! And I guess fancy rats. And tarantulas! But not for me! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Spoke with physio and yup, bruised knee can take some time to fully heal. Seems a bit better today (esp when I don’t think about it.) Says to keep up the home treatment. And she’s fine with my calling her at beg of ea wk with a full report.

Well my bldg admin is getting srsly AR. I get that we now must use only specified garbage bags as opposed to grocery bags which are not strong. But they also want us to use those twist ties, which I don’t keep. Asked why I can’t use electric tape as closure of which I have a surfeit? Nope. OK I’ll get with the program.

Also, heads-up that fraudsters are out for sure there. Got call from my services provider (bundle) saying that my phone line was acting weird and when could they come. Long story short I got rid of them. Called provider who said it does sound weird and documented it. Good tip – told me I should ask for ID/Name then say that I’ll be calling provider directly to arrange repair if needed.

    N. was supposed to come by in her capacity as Hazel. Had to reschedule for tomorrow, no prob. And on way home from gym found me solid wood chair in almost exact shade of cerulean blue as my bdrm walls and one of my dressers. But light enough for me to carry. I’m good at mixing paint and navy/warm white/white/black blended into purrfect shade. After srs wash chair is in hallway and when it’s srsly dry it will get coat of varnish. I’ve been doing quite a bit of replacements of DIY stuff, haven’t posted pics as not efurryone is interested. Might take pic of this one. Or not.

At least DIY de-stresses me as in sloughing off excess energy. And fave online knitting shoppe is having mega-sale. I should just delete the e-mail. But can’t bring myself to do so as yet. So don’t need more yarn. Hmmm …

Dewey is all vetted and bloodwork came out negative for FIV & FeLV, yay! He has been vaccinated for distemper and leukemia and even got a rabies shot. He will go back in a few weeks for a leukemia booster. Comet was the snotty one, not Dewey, but I’m happy to say it looks like the l-lysine is working! Comet was howling at the moon at 5am this morning! Actually it may have been a loud complaint that there was no food out because Dewey was in, but now that Dewey has the all clear, I don’t have to pick up the food any more! Another yay!

GR8 news re Dewey JJ! ๐Ÿ™‚

All this talk of howling at the moon has encouraged me to post this pic from one of fave classic horror authors. If I ever find myself in Providence, RI I must visit his house!

Yes, I gave in and ordered me some yarn. And now I can find ways to justify purchase – or not. Like gift to self for Hebrew b-day. Right! *Sigh*

Winter Schedule out for place where I take Philo course. Considering giving Modern Philo a miss and taking “British Palaces and Country Houses” as I like nice things/decor and it sounds less intense. Of course the course that seems designed for me as “Led Zeppelin and the Power of Rock Music” is at a time when I am not available. ๐Ÿ™

Must go varnish chair street find (which n’bour did complement me on) so it can dry in hall overnight, as neither Dorry nor I appreciate the varnish smell. And MS, followed your advice and used drop cloth for paint job as well as gloves.

    Afternoon all.
cow update on the pic I posted yesterday of stranded cows:
The family of cows that were left stranded on an earthquake island have reportedly been saved.
Rescuers dug a trench to free the cows from the small dirt peak where they were trapped. ๐Ÿ˜€
Mother Nature seems to be in a contrary mood. first the really nasty quake and now those same areas are getting high winds and heavy rain and flooding.
A few facts about the quake
There have been more than 800 quakes since Monday’s M7.5 quake in North Canterbury – which was two quakes together.

-It’s likely that smaller aftershocks will continue, but there is close to a 40% chance of another large shake soon.

    – Landslides have cut off Kaikoura, with its drinking water running out. Two NZDF ships and the USS Sampson are en route with supplies and should reach the region by Wednesday, after bad weather delayed them. Small amounts of people are being flown out by helicopter today.

    – Two people were killed in the quake, in Kaikoura and Mt Lyford.

    – The first tourists will be evacuated from Kaikoura on Tuesday morning.

    – Wellington’s will reopen for business, but is close to being completely cut off due to wild weather.

    – Some 1500 homes in Marlborough and North Canterbury are still without power.

Airy rang last night and said that the ground moving all the time was getting really annoying, you never get a chance to relax and nerves are on edge all the time. Now it’s the rain, wind and disrupted transport system because of the quakes, rain and flooding. At least the cats where she lives are undisturbed by everything going on.
Woohoo JJ, fingers crossed that Dewey passes any tests the vet gives hom and he can find a new furever home.
KZ, hope the calves and less snotty soon.
    Waving to JK.
AV, yay to cooler temps. Double yay on the new pond occupants, may they thrive and grow.
KJ, great chair find(googles cerulean) Wow, that’s a beautiful sky blue shade. Yes, pic pls.
Kaloo Kalay ! ! Dewey is all negative. Wonderful JJ. I bet Comet will be pleased about that because it means full plates.
KJ, well done on the drop cloth and gloves.
    Lunch time.
KJ, I hummed and harhhhed about posting that vid so if anyone is offended I will remove it. Sometime we just have to laugh at ourselves.

MS, tks for update. Sorry for those who have lost so much, of course for those who were killed. ๐Ÿ™

But great that you and family/friends are OK. Guess with travel vetoed Airy can’t come stay with you? Purrhaps when things settle down? Very surprised that kits didn’t react. Dorry alerts me when elevator door is pressed! And when fire alarm system gets checked – let’s just not go there.

Also glad that the cows were rescued – I should sleep better for this. ๐Ÿ˜†

Indeed you will get a pic – even if you’re the only one who wants to see it. When chair is back inside and has it’s cushions. Technically we’re not allowed to do DIY stuff in hallway, but no one cares, and considering that very nice n’bour mistakenly left garbage-slated carpeting in hallway where I could have easily tripped over it (and went on endlessly apologizing) I don’t sense any complaints anytime soon!

I also tend to consider/re-consider things that I post. IMHO the vid is fun and for sure one has to laugh on occasion. And some lightening up is much needed as I’m hearing some very ugly comments about US elections, totally inappropriate/beyond tasteless. Besides as a moderator you automatically get purrmission – right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi Efurryone,

I saw the dental hygienist this A.M. Pretty clean teef considering I missed my 6 month appointment. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ With all the other dental appointments, I forgot to make an appt. for cleaning.

While I was at the hospital, I told the nurses this was their day and to have a happy!

Grumpy cat says it all. I love the knit cap the kit is wearing (not to happily) in the pic. The wee kit in the pink blankie is so precious-COA*COA* Pfft! thud

Yea for Dewey. He’s such a sweetie and will have his own furever home soon. We will all miss him (esp. you).

What a find, KJ. It’s great you have the desire to refurbish and re-decorate you place. It’s pointless telling you to take it easy, so just take care.

    Those sweaters-ugh!

I hope the shaking settles down soon, MS. I sympathize with Airy.

Yea on the new fishes! Soon they’ll be a big as Hazel.

that’s all here, I’ve got remember to watch the moon!

    Cya and have a happy~

    I lied-there’s more

Since I reduced the food for Miss Gaea and LilBit, there isn’t any around free feed. Miss Gaea decided it was time for dinner. She came over to the recliner, tapped my arm and went back to her bowl.

Where are you at with “The Fall” KJ?

Just heard from Airy and they have had 3 severe,1 strong,2 moderate and 2 light quakes in the last 14 minutes. Rock n Roll Kiwi style.
KJ, she couldn’t even get out of her city to drive here, trains are not on schedule and airport marginal and all because of the heavy rain and flooding, the quake damage is just the kick in the tail. However it could be a lot worse.
I am a little angry having just read about a family from the UK, who very obviously didn’t appreciate the quake interfering with their holiday of a life time and can’t wait to get home. Never mind the wrecked lives and homes and everything else that is destroyed, roads that will take months at the least to be repaired or dig out of slips. The sooner they leave and go back to their cozy ignorant lives the better as far as I am concerned. Uses ladder to get off soap box.

PG, thanks for “getting me” and avoiding frustrating yourself. LOL

Bet the nurses appreciated your comment.

Latest episode of “The Fall” has Paul being interviewed by chief psych. And explains the abuse in halfway house that impacts his case. I might have caught the series mid-way but it’s still good. Also reps the sort of fiction that I like to read.

“Vikings” is re-scheduled for next season on Nov. 30. Mark your calendar. ๐Ÿ™‚ (I actually made note on mine.)

    JJ, Jersey peeps rock!

    https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/nov/13/stranded-bruce-springsteen-rescued-from-road-by-new-jersey-bikers

Well MS, at least you can keep in touch with Airy, which I’m sure helps a great deal. As for that UK family who was “put out”, well some slapping is in order. Along with a reality check.

MS, not offended by the video at all, it made me laugh! Especially of Hillary’s face when she went running out that door…so cute!

JJ, makes me tear up a bit to think of Dewey leaving, but I’m like that about everything. I cared for so many cats at one point I was going broke, but when I thought about finding homes for them, I couldn’t imagine how I could let one go. Can you say HOARDER?! ๐Ÿ˜›

KJ, I always like to see pics of your street finds. Of course, after you have had your way with them, they don’t look like street finds anymore.

PG, isn’t it nice to get your teeth cleaned? I love they way they feel afterwards!!

AV, hope you enjoyed your dinner out. Mr. KZ and I went out too but don’t have a Sam’s club close. I really wish we had something like that or Costco — it feels like something exotic when I get to go to a grocery like that with all the choices available!

KJ, break out the Whack-bonk sticks. I just found their ingratitude breathtaking considering the circumstances of their stranding. They had food and shelter and a promise of evacuation by helicopter as soon as their turn came. Yes they may have been scared by the quake and tsunami but every one else was scared too. They didn’t have travel insurance ! ! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
I think Airy’s feline housemates are either accustomed to the earth moving or just so contented with their lives that they didn’t even notice. I get to meet these two cats next month. ๐Ÿ™‚
I had to chuckle at Airy this morning, she had a dentist appointment, can you imagine lying back with your mouth open and metal instruments in there when the earth shakes. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜
I saw that item about the Boss being stranded and rescued too and thought that was pretty good.
