Hi Buttons! Nice of your mam to take in the kitty. I feel that our Lucy is with a nice lady. Different circumstances, but nonetheless a new family.

Howdy! It was a dreary day here with misty rain on and off this afternoon. Neighbor girl and I took recycling over, stopped at the dairy for some milk, stopped at a little country store for a drink, and an ice cream bar. Sat outside on the table to enjoy. Went to visit my friend who had an operation and back home. I still have wash to do and have to eat something yet for dinner. Too busy on here reading! LOL My favorite past time!

Hi BB – mmmm, ice cream bar! Sounds like a lovely day despite drizzly weather.

Yes BB, could you slip an ice cream bar through the wormhole for me?! Sounds like it would just hit the spot!
Awww Buttons, your mom is going to take the kitty…how sweet and loving…..unbelievable how he found his way back to his home!
KJ, wish I had napped with my cats this afternoon…but tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, so may have to do it then with cats and baby.
AV, I like my turkey too, with the traditional sides. I love turkey and it’s so easy to fix–I used to worry about fixing one before I did one all by myself…it would be hard to mess up a turkey. That reminds me of a *Raymond* episode where his wife is fixing a turkey and she’s so angry and it slips out of her hands and falls on the floor. It’s so slippery she can’t hold on to it and she picks it up, opens the oven door and throws it in and slams the door!! 😆
You guys and your hurricane stories…scares the heck out of me! We just have the tornadoes, ice and snow storms here, at least I don’t have to worry about hurricanes. Except a few years back, we did get the winds for a solid day of a hurricane (I forget which one) and it tore up a lot of stuff.

Just saying a quick hello and good night, but still gives me the chills when I think back on “Ice Storm ’98”, put my city in shutdown mode for over a week. Could not stay in my apt. as no heat and eventually fear of gas leak so even holdout peeps were evacuated. Stayed with friends but not fun as glad they offered but was wanting to be back home after 2 days. In a sense fortunate that I did not have cat at the time as adopted Meadow Nicky in June of that year, ’cause then would have had big problem finding someone willing to take in the both of us.

Good timing Nicky! Hurricane irene had niece, sister & kits up on the mountain, just for a day, but it was interesting. Efurryone had necessary shots so it was a matter of splitting up for purrsonality reasons – who gets a bathroom to themself, who can possibly co-exist with their cousins, etc. fortunately very short term!

Well, got the dishes done, ate scrambled eggs and hot tea, did another load of wash, but noticed the agitator was not “agitating”, but the water still emptied and tub would still spin. Think it may just be a belt? I’ll have to call someone tomorrow to see.
Hope everyone has a lovely sleep.
    See ya tomorrow! 🙂

    Hey JK,
Missed you on the sextuple flip! Assume that you got Columbus Day as off? Here across the board Thanksgiving is day off work (‘cept for store peeps as big shopping day!)
Speaking of which, my woeful (LOL) story might be old for other TDKers but you might appreciate it. Have discovered that I can buy me cool boots in children’s sizes – exact same style as ladies’ but ridiculously cheaper. Purrfect fit. So bought me 2 prs lace up just above ankle boots (black and brown) and 2 prs Timberland look-alikes (wheat and khaki). And then to “help” I did the packing up. And wouldn’t you know it for the black boots I placed 2 left boots in box. Discovered this on unpacking them at home. Store mgr blamed cashier for not checking, but nipped that one in the bud as was my fault. Ideally cashier is supposed to double check, but having worked in stores don’t want her to get into trouble. So back I go today to get the “right” boot LOL. Still a fantastic deal and good that I have very small feet. Gave 6 prs of boots to charity to ease any guilt that I don’t have. 😉
