Seeing as we don’t celebrate Columbus Day or Thanksgiving Day here I will post a beautiful pic I saw today.

“When imgur user Cmycherrytree’s daughter picked her a bright pink rose, she was delighted. However, the real thrill came moments later when she leaned in to smell the flower: Inside was a slumbering anole lizard nestled between petals. “As long as I live I will probably never see this again,” ?Cmycherrytree? titled her image gallery.”
    Simply beautiful.

Hi CGM. that lizard really looks comfortable in the rose.

There was a 5.8 earthquake here over an hour ago. Didn’t feel it where I live but it was down Jcat, KK and Airy’s way. Heard from KK that is was a long rolling quake and Airy thought it was a passing bus.
No reports of damage that I have seen so far and several aftershocks since with a 4.0 the strongest.

Guess that life is certainly a “bed of roses” for that highly contented lizard! πŸ˜‰

Morning KJ and night, MS! ooooohhhh squeeeeeee, that lizard is precious!

Just popping in for a quick ‘wave’ this morning to everyone, got a super busy day ahead of me! …. Let’s just say Moanday hasn’t started well for me …. found two fraud charges on my credit card this morning (went thru the cancellation process) …. then the toilet clogged up in the golf studio :/ ….. call into plumber ….. *sighs* ….. not how I wanted to start what I know is going to be a hetic/busy day and week! …. hope things look up from here! ….. have a ‘better than me’ day all!

OH NO AV! Fraud and clogged toilets….ugh! Well, that lizard wrapped in the silky, velvety rose is just adorable! An intelligent lizard indeed to find such a heavenly resting place.
Be safe MS, glad the quake wasn’t felt by you and no damage where KK, Jcat and Airy are! Hope you are going to have as beautiful a day as it is here today! I think spring and fall in our areas must be much the same! Thanks for mentioning the flower identification–those gillardia are really beautiful and I love the dwarf the best, as they don’t fall over but stay bushy and compact so you can see their colors. I need to get some of those again!
Hi KJ!! I have the day off as dau has Columbus day off but the schools are in session. So, I am going up to her house and we are going to shop and have lunch–and I may have to kiss that ornery baby too. She can now say WIWWOW (Willow) and KITTLEEE for kitty. She barks like a dog too. Need to get her some cardboard page farm books as she is big on the animals….I wonder why? πŸ™„

Good Morning! Even I have to admit, that lizard is pretty cute. I’m not a fan of lizards. They’re okay when they are outside and keep their distance. But inside….eek! None yet in this house, much to the cats’ disappointment. They watch them through the windows, though.

Have a good Monday! We’ll keep doing school and clean my easy condo this afternoon.

Good morning – Happy Columbus Day and Happy Thanksgiving Canada! The grey and orange kitties sleeping off the turkey are adorable – and that lizard in a rose is very cute, as cute as a lizard can be!
It’s nice that many of us are enjoying the neutral seasons of spring and fall, though I’m guessing Florida is a bit hot, as well as the southwest.

Oops, I must have hit the submit button – wasn’t finished posting!
Hope the aftershocks are not too rocky, MS, and hope damage is minimal at the epicenter.
I keep wanting to post later in the evenings, but lately I’ve been falling asleep on the couch!
Last night we went to brother in law’s annual pizza party. It’s somewhat of a mini-car show as all the car peeps bring their old cars. It was a nice evening to be out and a fine time was had by all. BIL bought a nifty old hearse that he displayed on his front lawn. Came home to 3 hungry kitties!

Happy Thanksgiving to northern neighbors – Canada – Oh, Canada…enjoy KJ…

It’s now overcast but still warm – 70 today…had a gorgeous last couple of days too!
Had a chance to air out Crockey both days/yay!
Otto has been around – haven’t spotted other local ferals/stay but nomz are missing – good sign.

OK, time to continue w/days fun.
Wishing all a good one, now a smooch for Tux – later!

    I love the VEGAN Tanksgibbn.

The wee lizard is so cute-what a find, MS. I hope there wasn’t much damage from the earthquake down south.

Sorry about your troubles, AV. Some of the worse problems a person can have!!

    Oooh, shiny! πŸ™‚
Many moons ago when I was a teen in the work-study program, I went into work and the boss asked me where I was on Monday. I presumed the sheet metal company was closed on Columbus Day, because it was a holiday and school was closed!

Just stoppin’ by. Busy-ish day, yes first guess was correct as more DIY. Well who could blame me? First up superb spin class, same program as yesterday as reg instructor has crud, so yesterday’s guy subbed. Everyone was into it, tunes were from 80s, was like a party. On way home passed a stack of purrfect 17.5 x 6 inch ceramic tiles in exact shade of bthrm walls. Sign on stack said “Please take.” So I did! Switched out all the shelves from former DIY. This looks way better. And kept old slate shelves plus more of these new ones for project potential.Dorry must be impressed as he jumped on counter and posed for pics.
Weather today was unbelievable. 23*!!! Summer’s last hurrah. Peeps back into near-nekked mode, not all that pretty IMHO. But now sky has gone completely dark and it looks like it’s going to pour imminently. Rain for tomorrow. And I have plans to get something done which involves heavy items and going some distance. There is option of waiting until next wk/taking cab, but when I want something done I want it done now. Perhaps common sense (which is so not my strong suit) will prevail.
Did wonder want US peeps did for Columbus Day. Nothing spectacular I gather. And i totally get take of JK’s pic. For sure your Thanksgiving is way more of a celebration than ours. Here it’s day off work, but most stores open. I’ve been told that your Thanksgiving vies with Xmas for get-togethers, etc.

Nothing much here for Columbus Day as not all people get the day off and I agree, I like the Indigenous People idea waaay better! Anywhooo, Thanksgiving IS a big deal with families getting together for a huge feast and usually football games too. πŸ˜› Lots of eating, laziness and some people hit the stores for the start of the Christmas shopping season.
Joan, you made me laugh not showing up in the work/study program–well, HEY, somebody should have told you! 😎

I concur JK, KZ. So KJ, oops, never mind. I was going to say why don’t you rent a truck/van but I remembered you don’t have a license.

Hi KJ, wondering if common sense will prevail, hehe! Keep us posted!
There was a parade in NYC today, perfect weather for it. Besides banks and the post office and schools being closed, it’s a regular day for many. And yes, KZ, someone should have told me! After all, kids in school have no reason to think the world does not revolve around the school calendar!
    Hey PG – GO STEELERS!!!

The world doesn’t revolve around school calendar? All I know is that not 2 wks into starting, friend’s son has been off for at least 2 PED days (Professional Educator’s Development or something like that.) Giving parents the joy of figuring out what to do with their kids while they are at work. We had Teacher’s Convention once a year. No laptops either. Or calculators. Or Google to write our essays. And disadvantaged as we were, somehow we struggled through. *Jumps off soapbox*
Well PG, indeed driving without license and not knowing how limits my options hehehe. I did hint at BFF taking me in her car today as she’s off work, but she did not take me up on opp. πŸ™ It’s actually my new dinnerware that must be immersed before use, a religious requirement, place is only open for relatively short time in am, in effect another trip with the dishes. My heavy duty cart is packed up and weather and mood after spin class will be determining factor. It’s not like I can’t use current dishes for another week or so. But I want what I want when I want it! Going to bed now as early call for 8:15 class. Sweet dreams all!
