Oh KJ, I hope the prospect works out for you – sounds right up your alley!
Poor Abby – to spend the day pining only to be disappointed. Dinner sounds lovely AV.
Preventive cleaning and going over already clean areas is indeed satisfying. My home is quite a mess but there are areas that must be clean at all times.
Comet and I went out for a few minutes. The sunshine felt good for sure, despite the cold temps and biting wind! Shaddo and Jiggs were good about the indoor/outdoor life but the community has changed a lot since their day, hence this generation being indoor only. I live on a dead end street, but most homes have been converted to year-round so there’s a lot more action.
JK, hope you got thru the rest of your day okay.

Hi all, finally made it here. Have been busy this morning bug bombing Mum’s house as something has been nibbling on her and making Snuggy stare at the carpet. Not fleas though.
It’s a slightly overcast day here but very humid. HRH is off somewhere doing secret cat stuff.
Ohhhhhh, favourite old songs??? I seldom have favourites because I hate leaving things out.
I did like Smoke on the Water , had a boyfriend who was in a band and they played that, he was the bass guitarist.
Also loved Ferry Cross the Mersey – Gerry and the Pacemakers

No Milk Today – Herman’s Hermits

The music on the radio when I was growing up was very British, not much American music played for some reason but Simon & Garfunkel’s Homeward Bound sticks in my memory.
I don’t listen to lyrics, it’s the actual music that I love about all these, especially when it involves a change of key preferably into a minor key. Just the way I roll.
My all time ‘favourite’ has to be Eric Burdon and the Animals House of the Rising Sun.

ECB, great that you have introduced your son to some older but fantastic music. Some years back I introduced our girls to the movie Hair and they were instantly entranced with the music and message. Their favourite radio stations are the retro 60’s onwards ones, good music back then.
LOL AV now if you hadn’t introduced daughter and friends to The Beatles they may never have experienced their great music.
Deb, good quizzes, I do them every day to challenge myself. Yes there is some NZ content but it’s all about learning.
now you see I have a problem, as I read more of your posts and the great groups/bands and music I am thinking I loved them/those songs too, that’s why I tend not to have favourites.
Joan I hope the Lion becomes a Lamb soon.
BB, look after that knee, I missed what happened to it.
    Awwwwww Scoot, you sweet girl.
Waving to PG. Yay for the warm sun to herald the weather ahead.
KJ, sending Positive TDK Vibes for the job.
    😀
Poor Abby AV, pining for her outside hunk. 😉
LOL ECB at your delight at finding crumbs in your ‘easy condo’ job.
Hi joan, glad Comet got some outside time. Has Mac been popping out too or is he staying put inside where it’s warm and there is a sweet girl kitty.
Time I got myself some lunch.

Time I got myself some dinner as you have lunch in what is our tomorrow MS! How very science-fiction-ish!
Seems like the “British Invasion” as they refer to it in Northern Hem also invaded Southern Hem LOL. Love Eric Burdon, another face is “Spill The Wine”, very cryptic. I do like listening to lyrics, as poetry. House of the Rising Sun is supposedly about a house of ill-fame LOL. Back in Jr. College we actually analyzed Jethro Tull’s “Thick as a Brick” as being about process of individuation. Another fave group and lead Ian Anderson is a cat rescuer and rights advocate – bonus!
Well, we got another snowstorm, too warm for snow to accumulate, but wind howling and blustery. I was trying to catnap when bldg super decided to vacuum hall with mega-loud machine as sent Dorry scurrying into other room as my bdrm. Will be aiming for an early night as still tired out from last wks double spin class effort and arm aches a bit from mega-knitting session and more likely carrying way too heavy bag (I don’t seem to learn!)
Tks guys for sending luck re project. Won’t know immediately if I get it as agency president has to present to client and there is generally a to-ing and fro-ing process no matter how quickly client wants to get the thing done. I don’t feel as desperate as I usually do about waiting for answers, which is better for me. Would be fun, though, stressful too, but that comes with freelancing and wanting to get thing purrfect. I did mention in my reply that being owned by kit gives me an in on working with client (didn’t quite phrase it this way), and hope that I didn’t come across as a fool, but self-promo is part of the ad game. LOL.
ECB, condo that you cleaned sounds like my 800 sq ft as home LOL. Me and Dorry and he doesn’t even shed all that much. My friend/Hazel goes into homes where she has tons of chores. I keep up regular maintenance, she does heavier stuff as vacuuming, moving out furniture to dust, all done in like 2 hrs. I would never ask anyone else to do laundry or clean litter box as my cat – my responsibility. Often we spend time just catching up and chatting. Which is where the friend part comes in. But of course she gets paid, interesting relationship, but it works.
Anyway time that I fed Dorry and self. So L8R for Tues Café opening.

AV, I saw Hair too – twice. And when entire cast comes out nekked as end of Act I, well back in the day audience was shocked – shocked LOL! Now I see more on daytime TV! I’m looking forward to f…ING July, but I hear you, as here too in humid Summer, A/C is req’d.

Speaking of nekked – that’s one way to make your night cooler AV, and a fan in the room. Sorry about the A/C going phutt.
    KJ, love the dinner/lunch – today/tomorrow comment.
Lovely lunch eaten followed by a peach and plum and now off into the garden to clear away the gunk that Mr MS tossed out of the guttering when he cleaned them. The gunk has dried now so is easier to handle.

    Hello!!
I shoveled the snow from my driveway. It had a crust over it. The sun melted the snow on the deck and car for me! A bit windy out now too. The moon is shining and stars are SO pretty and bright!!
Joan, that’s the other song I love, but forgot about. PENNY LANE and I also LOVE the piccolo at the end!!! Such a cool song. LOVE their cute accents!
MS.. I also love music more than lyrics and also love minor chords the best. I twisted my knee long ago and it took a good 7 or so weeks to get better. Recently, I twisted it again, and hurt it two days later and it’s just not getting much better. It gets better, then worse, etc. I hate doctors and all their tests, being poked and prodded…. UGH! So put it off until I have NO choice! LOL I am so thankful for my soft knee brace and wish I had it long ago for the twisted knee.
Had a nice nap with the kitties today. Iced the knee and stayed off it as much as possible today. Also, sat in the sun a couple of times and it felt SO good! The cats were in the sun all day as well. More bad weather tomorrow….
MS… your poor mum getting bit up!

    Nice choice of tunes, MS!
Sorry about the busted a/c, AV. You’re right, at least it’s not July, but warm for you nonetheless. Would you like some snow? *aims snowballs toward Florida*
Heat and humidity certainly no fun, but looking forward to being able to go out to parts of the yard without it being an expedition.
Mac has been at the door a few times when I come back in with Comet, but with a quick “Shoo!”, he backs up and doesn’t carry on about not being allowed out. I’ve never converted a kitty to indoor only so the nicer weather will probably be a challenge. Have heard so much about former outdoor kitties being in and not wanting to go back out, not exactly the case with Mac. Thing is, if he does go out, all 3 cats have to be vaccinated for everything. They are now, but I was hoping not to have to continue with it other than the mandatory rabies vaccinations.

BB, you shovel crusty snow in the cold and I shovel heaps of large fallen magnolia leaves in the heat. Great that you are getting more warm sun, I bet the cats enjoyed the warmth. The moon was beautiful last night and the stars seemed so large too.
Yay, another music listener and not the lyrics, all my friends at school knew every word to the latest songs out and I couldn’t have told you the name of the song but I could whistle/sing the tune.
Sorry your knee isn’t healing completely and it’s so annoying when the darn things get hurt again and you have to start the healing process all over again.
I had forgotten about the need to keep Mac as strictly indoor because of the vaccinations, good reason. He does seem to be settling in well and what cat wouldn’t with all the love, food, warmth and toys that you have on offer.

The moon is indeed beautiful – I saw it rising when it was still light outside, a big powdery moon! Now it is casting a blue hue on the snow.
Yes, Mac seems to play with toys the most. Sooo, would that mean he had toys once, or is it because it is new? No matter, it is nice to see someone play with some of the countless toys!

Meaning to say all day – Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Hi BB, sorry I missed your post. The sun was out enough to melt a little snow here too, but much of my driveway is solid ice – doesn’t get a lot of sun. Glad you had some relaxing time with the kitties!
Speaking of bugs, MS, hubby caught a stink bug this morning in the bathroom and escorted it outside. A sign of spring perhaps?
Sirens just now out on the main road (as main of a road as you can get around here, lol) – made Leela whine. She doesn’t like unfamiliar sounds. She is back to curling up and all is well. Interestingly, Mac is sitting on the bed as well. She knows he is there, and is ignoring him in favor of napping. He is sitting here, purring away. I came upstairs and called for him, hoping to get him to use the litterbox upstairs instead of the one that is not in a desirable place and I would like to phase out. He did, yay, but he would have come up anyway. It seems he has caught on to Leela’s treat time!

Joan, if LJG decides to opt for indoor life, well it will be three guys and Miss Leela – but I feel confident that she can hold her own. So it’s off to bed somewhat earlier for me. Wanting to see if catching almost 7 hrs of zzz’s will make alarm going off at o’dark-thirty (4:45 am) less of an outrage LOL. Goodnight all and goodnight MS as when I get up, give or take.

Leela and Mac were both sleeping – well, Leela sleeps, Mac meditates – when Mac suddenly jumped to his feet. Moments later is the lamenting meow of LJG. Thing is, he doesn’t hang around long enough sometimes, for by the time I got to the door 2 minutes later he had left.
    Nighty-night KJ!
