    What are your fave oldies?
For me (point in time) it’s a three-way tie between:
Carry On (My Wayward Son) – Kansas
Don’t Fear The Reaper – Blue Oyster Cult
And You And I – Yes

Good morning! Funny kitties and great theme today!

Favorite oldie…Twist and Shout by the Beatles. I loved my 80’s music (which was current at the time) growing up but also listened to 50’s and 60’s oldies a lot.

I mentioned a while back that after Christmas music season was over, youngest son needed a new Pandora station to enjoy. I figured Bing Crosby was a good place to start…so now he’s obsessed with music from that era and may be the only 9 yr old who can tell you who’s in the “rat pack”…lol.

    oh, oldies!

…… A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse – Faces …. love the whole album
…… Layla – Derek and the Dominos (Clapton)
…… Sympathy For The Devil – Stones

well, it’s going up to 80 degrees here today, so thoughts of winter are past me …. EC, how funny that your 9 yr old loves the ‘pack’ …. but then again, good music is good music! ….. my Dau and her friends were huge Beatles fans when they were in middle school – I had played them some of those songs, and they became obsessed with them! A new generation discovers their music! LOL …. we even had to take her to Liverpool when we were in England in 2005, and toured Paul Mcartney and John Lennon’s homes it was really fun, and interesting!

    Morning ECB and all!
IMHO 80s music is “still” current!
Twist and Shout was first album that I bought with my own money, had a rinky-dink pink record player (probably worth big bucks now on Antiques Roadshow LOL). Major crush on Paul McC (as did just about every other girl I knew). Gym cohort name as Layla, now hubby played song when he proposed to her!
Now must get ready for day while playing/watching some of those oldies in live or vid performance as YouTube. Sunny and somewhat warmer but snow still on ground (March coming in like a lamb … going out like a lion???) 😯
And silver grey tabby kit pawing at me for his brekkie.

Morning all! LOVE the oldies, 60’s and 70’s being my favorites, Beatles, Clapton, ZZTop, CSN&Y, I could go on and on. I never get tired of hearing them. Love the Motown groups too Temptations, ChiLites, Supremes, Aretha and I can’t remember the names, LOL!
I love current stuff too, I really like Bruno Mars…and if you get the chance check out his video Uptown Funk on YouTube…gives me happy feet!!

Morning everyone! March came in like a lion around here, there had better be a lamb at the end of the month! Actually that lamb is more than welcome to show up early, though. Got a few inches of snow, then it sounded like freezing rain. Now the sun is trying to come out and there are snow flurries around. Most school districts are having a delayed opening.
ECB, that’s so cool that your son enjoys the old oldies! Of that era, I like Henry Mancini as well as Bing Crosby and of course, our very own Jersey Boy, The Chairman of the Board, Old Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra.
That being said, “The Pink Panther” is a favorite and just about any version, but a full symphonic orchestra is best, of “Rhapsody in Blue”.
Of my childhood: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Queen, Aerosmith, The Moody Blues, The Who…
My favorite senior kitties: Jinx, PJ, Shaddo and Jiggs. Of the feral world, my old friend Tommy. There were other “senior” kitties, but 10 is the new 5!

    Good Morning all!
I LOVE the Oldies too! MY favorite songs are:
    RUBY TUESDAY ~ Rolling Stones
    WESTERN UNION ~ Five Americans
    98.6 ~ Keith
But, there are MANY others as well.
We got about 2-2 1/2″ of snow starting yesterday through overnight. Started to get heavy and stick around 2-3 PM I’d say. Got home just in time as the roads were snow covered, but not slippy yet. One of those snows that last all day, but doesn’t stick until later kind? 23* here now with some flurries still and the sun is peeking out here and there! YAY!!
I fell asleep early after watching a cute movie on Hallmark last night, got up early and wrote out two Baby Congrats cards, a Get Well card, and lay back down and slept for 4 more hours…. My poor knee was SO painful yesterday at work, all night and still! I had to ice it. Seems to be getting worse instead of better! :/
Hope everyone has a lovely day!!!!

    Morning (again!)
That tricksy weather – seems that we’re going the “lion” route after all as blowing snow!!! At least it’s blowing in direction that I will be walking in, so there’s that! Coming back, who knows?
Seems that we all share similar taste in music, love “Rhapsody in Blue” as well. Must have something to do with being cat peeps LOL.
Picking faces is sooo hard, I like different sounds from different eras. On online site have over 850 tunes. Site makes suggestions and must find me rather eclectic as in “Because you listened to (genre), you might like (group)” and genre keeps changing LOL.
BB, at risk of interfering (this is meant well) purrhaps you should get your knee checked out by doc as seems to be persistently bothering you.
Joan, what about your other Jersey boy as Bruce? I esp like the songs that he wrote and others made famous as “Blinded By The Light” (Manfred Mann” and “Because The Night” (Patti Smith). And then I love “December 1963” by Four Seasons. Note to self to see film “Jersey Boys” at some point as missed live show when it came to my n’hood.

Do take care of that knee, BB. The wind has picked up here, creating white-out conditions in the yard. Mac was looking outside from his perch on the couch next to the window. I wonder if he does know what he’s missing? I wonder what his story is…
Hi KJ, yes I do like several Springsteen tunes; my signature is on a petition somewhere from a campaign to make “Born To Run” New Jersey’s state song back in the 70s. However, out of all the albums, cassette tapes and CD’s I think I may only have 1 Bruce CD. Not a Bon Jovi fan, though he has nice hair!

Good Morning All and Night MS,

The temperature is below freezing but the is sun is out so it doesn’t look as cold. Miss Gaea is so happy she’s rolling around on the warm sidewalk. I wish the simple things would make as happy 😕 . It’s been below freezing all weekend so none of the snow has melted. Tonight and tomorrow we’re suppose to get a few more inches.

I saw Gris in the window and was surprised he was sitting on the cat tree because Miss Gaea is outside. He is her nemesis and she usually has a fit and chases him away. I went out to see where she was and he took off. She had gone around to the front. Gris is a handsome dark grey cat with a long tail. He’s comes around every now and then.

I hate the wind, KJ, but I would kill for a nice breeze in the middle of summer!

I love the theme and pics – Here’s my 2 cents worth:

These are my top three faves –
Smoke on the Water – Deep Purple
Turn the page – Bob Segar
Don’t Fear The Reaper – BOC (KJ!)
Of course, there are so many others to choose from…

    For the Beatles Fans

I stay away from GS cookies-they are too delish! Potion control? Bah 😛

I’m going swimming and then I have to pick up some noms for the furballs.

    Have a happy ~

Oooh, scritches to pretty Diva Scoot, JK! Girl Scout Cookies here too, Samoas for hubby, Thin Mints for me. Had the other half of the order shipped to the troops. There is a NYC station that has a Sunday Beatles show – nice! My favorite Beatles tune is “Penny Lane”, but only if it has the “magic” seven notes played on the piccolo trumpet at the end!
Miss Gaea must be so happy to get outside! Comet wants me to take him outside as he’s been watching the birds and squirrels. I’m the queen of stiff necks though, so I have to dress accordingly in windy weather.

Yes BOC PG!!! Cowbells and all LOL! Gris sounds like an ardent suitor for Miss Gaea’s affections. Dorry has competition!
JK, we don’t seem to have girl scout cookies in my n’hood as North of the 49th parallel. 🙁
OK, need some of that famous TDK energy sent my way. Just got request for quote on translation job on of all things pet supplies site as the place where I pick up my litter and accessories, a few blocks away in my n’hood. Neat place as they don’t sell pets and host adoption days for local kit shelters. Rate offered is very nice and work would keep me out of mischief for at least a few weeks. And keep me in shoes for some time LOL. If client accepts agencies’ proposition all good, if not still good, but it would be interesting job for me.

Do take Mr. Comet outside. I’m sure it’s not very warm but the sunshine is so nice.
That sounds like a great assignment, KJ. I hope you get the work.
Enjoy your nap with Tux, JK.

Afternoon all! ….. Dau and Mr. AV like thin mints too! …..

JK, sneak on out for a break! LOL

KJ, hope you get the work!

PG, do you have a harness for Gaea like Joans for Comet? or maybe she just comes when you call?!

Abby is ‘pining’ away today, she’s checked 10 times for Jojo/Sal’s orange face at the door, but nothing so far! She’s so disappointed when he doesn’t stop bye …

well, it’s finally quitting time for me today, best get dinner going – meatloaf, smashed potatoes and butter beans …. comfort meal for Dau 🙂

OMG, AV. I just love hearing about Abby’s interest in her visitor. It’s so adorable! Love hearing what Joan and PG’s kits are up to today too. KJ, hoping you get that job!

Today I cleaned my “easy condo”…one tidy person, no pets. It’s almost more like keeping it from getting dirty than cleaning. So I dutifully vacuum and swiffer mop the dining room each time, even though it looks untouched. Today there were crumbs under the table! Woo hoo…it’s a thrill I tell ‘ya…so satisfying…lol. Maybe next time the guest bath will be used before I clean it. :). In all seriousness though, I love the job and some things do need cleaning. And there’s nothing wrong with preventative cleaning, IMO.
