Welcome to the “March Madness” NS, Kentucky vs. Kansas. We are watching the game on the big screen but you are welcome to relax on the patio if you don’t want to watch the game. The kits are playing sand volleyball and the outdoor fireplace is lit. There are lots of pretty spring flowers on the tables to cheer you up after a Monday.

We have snack type foods to watch the game with. Pretzels and mustard or cheese, popcorn, nachos, burgers, fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, pizza, chicken wings, cookies, ice cream. Lots of drinks coming from the fountains.

Hi MC! We got thru a Monday, yay! Comet dragged his toy upstairs during the night – a feather, or what’s left of a feather, on a string on a pole. He just dragged it downstairs so I played with him for a while. Apparently he’s incapable of playing with toys by himself. Leela kind of likes them, but ultimately prefers them without the string and pole. I got her a pole with Angry Birds that attach to it, but she managed to un-tether it. She did the same thing with “mousie” a couple of years ago. When I tied mousie back on the string, she freed him again.

    Evening MC and Joan 🙂

Awwww Comet wants to involve you too! Lol, Leela wants the free and easy types 🙂

I can promise that I won’t be watching the MM games, cannot stand the sound of their shoes on the court floors so never have liked the game. Oh heck, I don’t like football either.

    Good tips, http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/home-remedies-doctors-swear-153600605.html

Hi there Deb. He’s howling for more, lol! Been meaning to mention that I look at as many of the pics you post as I can – though I don’t always post after them…thank you! I enjoyed a bunch this morning, I think they were from last night’s night shift.

There’s that howling again – the boy is so bossy!

Ha ha! My girls have a “Bungee Mouse” that hangs over the door on a bungee cord. Many a mouse have hung there but eventually my girls set the mousie free too! I guess they have more heart for the little mousies than I thought they would.

Well, Comet still has a lot of energy to burn, so he’s coming thru the wormhole to play volleyball. Leela is waiting upstairs to settle in for the night.

Have a great evening – see ya on the flip side!

Hi all, just popping for a sec. My mind’s racing around in circles about the new job, worrying about stupid things like am I going to remember how to use the databases I’ve been using for 15 years (c’mon Kilroy, it’s been 8 weeks, get a grip).

Mr. K & I went out for dinner tonight; it was so-so Italian, not the best.

Oh, and the neighbor’s psycho cat who scared me to death the last time his owner was out of town was a total pussycat this time around & didn’t bother me at all when I went to feed him. Thank you Willie!

Evening all, just waiting for dinner to finish cooking at the moment. We had a hot day here, all that hot air coming in ahead of the tropical storm that hit Fiji earlier. Great, more rain and gale force winds. Hello Autumn.

Sniff sniff! Do I detect a faint odour or a KOTSW? Ohhhhhh yum. I hope AV(it has to be her)has left a pitcher of it behind.

Deb, I like that link. Bookmarked.

I’m intrigued about the meat tenderiser hint though. Do you get it in a container or something.

Did you know if you have a paw paw tree just cut off a leaf, wash and bruise and wrap your meat up in it. The papain in the leaf does the rest.

AV!!!!! Thank you, I found the pitcher of KOTSW. Ahhhhhhhh

I bet that you could use any type of meat marinade as long as you made it into a paste.

Hi Deb, I tend to use this as a marinade, it’s simple but produces wonderfully tender meat. Crushed garlic, lemon juice and olive oil.

What a lovely wee rhino and wow those feet. I’ll have to try to go and see it some time. It’s at the zoo where the KK’s and MS’s feed the ringtailed lemurs by hand.

Awwwwww wee Nero is a sweetie pie. Wow, love that tree, it’s the ultimate in espaliering.

Simple marinades work for me 🙂 That little rhino is a looker 🙂 We have some new baby lion cubs and a whole new elephant family here that I haven’t seen yet.

Simple works for me too, if I want more in the marinade I add fresh rosemary or I would but I pulled my rosemary out as it had grown big and straggly and was blocking a path. I must put a new one in.

I haven’t grown herbs for a long time, I do more flowers. I did plant my two tomato plants in the hanging planters this week though. Thinking of planting another lemon tree and hoping that it makes it, I miss the one that died in the freeze last year.

Have you thought of planting a Eureka variegated lemon Deb. You showed me a picture of one a couple of years back. They look beautiful.

No, I did plant a Lemon Boy though 🙂 They are less acidic than other lemons.

Morning friends!……………….. do not laugh, but my favorite marinade for beef (skirt steak, flank steak, london broil, really any cut) is a true bloody mary!………… yep, the actual drink, spices and all…………. the vodka and tomatoe juice are wonderful tenderizers, and the spices – garlic & onion powder, salt/pepper, celery salt, worsteshire sauce, and tobasco really give the meat a good flavor!……………… right before I grill it, I pat it dry and rub it with olive oil……………. SO YUMMY!
