Lucy is 6 weeks past her dental surgery today. Her mouth is healing well, but we have little clues that it isn’t 100% yet (occasional bit of drool and she sort of licks her lips and swallows a lot.) I caught a glimpse when she yawned yesterday and it looked really good in there.
She does have another cold, though. It’s been almost two weeks and the symptoms seem to be improving so we haven’t gone to the vet yet. I don’t want to expose her to more meds if she can fight it off on her own (which she seems to be doing.) It’s been a hard decision (whether to take her in) and we still might take her in if she doesn’t get 100% better soon. I’ve read a cold virus can take 3 weeks to progress. All the cats are taking lysine and the other cats have had some mild symptoms, but nothing major yet.
I was hoping she would be totally healthy by now….hopefully we’ll get there soon. It still is to be determined whether her mouth will need ongoing treatment. She is happy and playful and eating well.
