I have 3 cats, 2 female and one male, all fixed. Now recently an outside kitten I feed wondered in and I am debating on keeping her cause she hides behind one of my sofas all day and only comes out when I bring out this cat wand toy and even then she’ll only play with it on the sofas. She also comes out apparently when my I go upstairs to sleep, then she pisses all over and leaves shit in various places in the dining room area across the room from where the sofa is. I have 3 full size litter boxes that are scooped daily located in the laundry room, that she can’t find cause she hides all day and I can’t take her to the litterbox cause she runs from me and hides if I approach her to pick her up or pet her. What to do?

First, somehow I would confine her to one spot and get her to a vet and checked out to make sure she doesn’t have any kind of disease that can be passed on to your three resident cats. After that’s done, then keep her confined to an area of your house where there is a litter box and food, water, etc. I’ll post some links on introducing cats to the rest of the house.

There is a lot of material to go through here, but I think you have 2 concerns–introducing your new cat, and then the litter box one. Could be that she is marking her territory because she is trying to establish herself in your home. This can create a big problem with the others…so read up and try to see it from her perspective and the other cats’ perspective…it should work out fine, but may take time and patience on your part.

Well she figured it out. I did at one point scoop her up and place her into one of the litter boxes then it was like a few days later I noticed her feces in the litter box (I know what hers looks like as opposed to my other three cats). Also most importantly no more kitten feces on the carpet 😎

Good. Kits eventually figure it out but for some, it takes a bit longer. 🙂

She was lounging on one of our sofas this morning and I snapped some pics of her. Her name is Simba. I know in the Lion King movies Simba is a male but I really liked the name so 😎 she’s Simba.
