My cat recently had a full litter, meaning a litter of 8. All of them are doing well, save for one. The little runt is still the size of a week old kitten and sleeps All the time. It wont get up and try to explore like the others do and I’m concerned and unsure what to do. I’m just looking for some advice, as I havent started vet school yet and haven’t had this problem before. My cats mom had a litter of eight, but we had another cat who only had four and they would share kittens when feeding sometimes, but now we only have Mazie, and she’s alone with this and I’m not sure how to help.

You are going to have to step in and hand feed this kitten. Go get some KMR (kitten milk replacer) or goat’s milk (found in the cold milk section of the grocery or in the baking aisle in cans as condensed or powdered form) and get some kitten bottles from WalMart or a farm store like TSC. Warm it a little and start feeding this kitten. If it’s lethargic, rub some honey or syrup on it’s tongue and gums with your finger to bring it’s sugar level up. Then start feeding. Once it gains enough weight to be able to compete with it’s siblings, it may be okay. If not, you can hand rear it yourself.
