This means all my “kittens” (Eko, Emily and Leo) are growing up. Of course over at my favorite cat blog (wayofcats) she defines kittens as under 3, so we will go with that definition.

Leo has a fascinating personality. He’s full of kitten energy and fun but has an angsty, serious side as well. I think he sees himself as the leader around here and bears the mantle of leadership soberly. 🙂

LOL, Buttons. I think if they ever had access to each other the ball python would be the one in danger of being dinner. Leo loves watching “snake TV” and thankfully, doesn’t show too much interest in exterminating the snake. Though he used to. We had a talk and I explained that Norbert (the snake) is our friend.

Norbet is a lovely name. My great plains rat snake was called Clio i had her for 16 years lost her nearly 2 years ago just a week before i lost Lady Muck. People don’t understand how we can get attached to a snake but having Clio around for 16 years its hard not to get attached.

That’s one brave kitty; I wouldn’t want to get that close to snake TV–even real TV that just has pix of snakes on it.

Interesting–at the risk of disclosing identity, I will say that Quinn’s real first name is Norbert. I wonder if I should tell him that he has a reptilian namesake.

I’m afraid Mrs. Quinn doesn’t agree with you, Buttons. She refers to him as “my husband” or “your pastor” because she doesn’t like his name.

I’ve never known a human named Norbert. I guess it is a pretty old fashioned name. Our snake was named after the dragon from the Harry Potter books. Husband brought home the snake (who I don’t think had a name at the time) when someone really needed to find a home for him. Husband always loved having critters in aquariums when he grew up. So when he brought this snake home I accused him of being the non-magical Hagrid (a character in Harry Potter who loves all sorts of unlovable beasts.) He said, “Then this is my Norbert.” (Norbert was a dragon that Hagrid tried to keep as a pet.)
