    Hi,
I’ve had Gizmo for a little over a year, she’s very playful but extremely moody and has started biting for no reason lately (although it seems to have started soon after she got spayed 3 months ago and then had to be brought to a friend for a week while I was out of the country)
I try to play with her as much as possible but I’m disabled and can’t play as much as we’d both like.
Would it be a good idea to get a friend for her? I think her recent aggression is because she was left with my friend (and his cats) for a week and the boredom because I can’t play with her 24/7.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated

    Skarlet,

Welcome to TDK land! We love and care for all fluffiness! I’m concerned with Gizmos’ behavior because having her spayed shouldn’t bring on this change. My first idea is that she was harassed or beat up by your friend’s resident cats. This is not unusual with a visiting cat. Second, she could be ill. Third there is a new cat in the neighborhood.

In any case, I would have the vet check her out and take it from there. Do keep in touch. We’re not vets but have bunches of experience.

    Thanks for replying Pussigat.
Gizmo’s an indoor kitty so I doubt a new cat in the neighbourhood would be an issue and the cats at my friend’s house were kept away from her, if anything she ended up taking a swipe at them!
I’ll bring her to the vet for a check up.
Apart from the aggression she seems perfectly fine. I’m starting to think that my friends cats might be the culprits and he just didn’t tell me that anything happened

    Hi Skarlet,

It’s always reassuring to get a clean bill of health. The reason I mentioned a neighborhood cat is that even if your girl is an indoor cat she’s able to sense a new presence.

You should post a picture of Miss Gizmo for the Daily Kitten. Go to the menu bar, click on add your kitten. You’ll need to load your pics to an photo app such as Photobucket.com. I use that site. You can brag about your girl to all of us. 🙂
