hello! im curious if any of you would have some advice for me on my Paco man. In a later post i let you know that Paco got sick after we first got him with very loose stool, sneezing and discharge from the eyes. i took him to the vet when that happened and they put him on antibiotics (without running tests which i thought was weird) and after 2 weeks of that it cleared up and he seemed very healthy and happy (not to mention naughty hehe).

last night and this morning ive noticed Paco having some of the same symptoms again although not as severe. mainly just very small amounts of discharge in the eyes, a little sneezing and hes scratching his ear, only one. i looked in his ear and didnt see anything that suggests ear mites… the ear looks clean other than a little wax and it doesnt smell at all, and a couple of spots that i can tell he scratched too much and made it bleed just slightly. is it possible that he just has allergies because its now spring? i thought that all the meds they put him on before would have cured his being sick so im curious if its not sick, but just a case of allergies. hes only been off the meds for maybe 2 weeks. weird that he would be sick again already. hes eating and drinking like normal and very playful… any thoughts??

Very possible that he could have allergies, best to ask your vet though. Here is a link that might help a bit with the allergy info for kitties.

Thank you for the link. Nothing is severe yet, but im a worried mommy as usual. I will keep on eye on him and if it gets worse i will try to get him in to the vet. hes turning into a VERY expencive kitty! maybe i should change vets. ive only had the little guy for 2 months and he’s had a rough ride. i dont remember my last kitty, Midget, having these issues at all! i never once had an issue with health with her and she is now 8 years old and still healthy =) I did forget to mention that Paco is believed to be a runt. When i adopted him, the other siblings were quite larger than he was… same litter obviously. so i wonder if runts have more health issues than others?
