I got a kitten (not sure how old.) I got her yesterday. I’m not sure if she’s scared or not used to my house. She hasn’t went to the bathroom yet, is the only way to fix that with a litter box or warm cloth and rub her??? Please help me.

Concats on bring home your kit. I’m sure she is scared because she’s in a new place with big people she doesn’t know so this is normal.

    Here’s what to do:

Prepare a small room or space that will be hers for the first few days. Be sure to secure all electrical and blind cords because they can cause harm to your new kitten. You can make her a hidey hole with a box, blanket and/or shirt that smell of you and a soft squishy toy. All of these will give her a sense of calm.

Put a litter box with unscented non-clumping litter. Kits are known to taste everything including litter. Clumping litter will clump and create a dangerous health emergency. Then you put water and food bowls away from the litter box.

Throughout the day, go in and talk to her. If other people are in the house, have them go in and talk to her. While you’re talking to her extend your hand. Please don’t try to hold her yet. I know you want to hug and play with her so this is frustrating but bear with her, OK.

Good luck and hopefully we’ll see your girl as our TDK.
