Hi there, this is my first post here. Here, there is a 3.5-4 week kitten that is looks sick. I dont have access to vets at the moment and looking for some advice on how to care this kitten.
    – Kitten is still under mom cat’s care (And it seems like she is feeding milk)
    – This small kitten got bite from a male cat 2 weeks ago. After my home treatment, it got better within 3 days and was very much active.
    – From last 3-4 days onwards – the kitten’s activity has become very less.
    – The kitten has a round and hard belly

Here is a video of the kitten that i just took

Please advice how i can cure this kitten

    Could be constipation or worms.

If constipation you can try to stimulate him yourself with a warm damp paper towel or toilet tissue. Gently rub his behind Or you can try the triangle method.

If you have access to kitten formula or goat’s milk, and he with eat it mix a little pumpkin or olive oil in it. You can also try kitten glop. Stimulate him every few hours or until him belly softens, since mom is there.

Do not try to force feed the kitten.

If worms, he needs a vet. Personally, I think you need to find a vet any way pretty quickly.

I am new to this myself, but this is stuff I’ve gleaned from online resources.

I agree with UrbanSidhe, the first thing I would do is see a vet. The kitten is having trouble walking, but I really can’t see why. It’s tummy is distended, which could be worms. A vet will prescribe a dewormer, which might help the kitten. Also get some pate style wet cat food if it’s available and offer it to the kitten. The kitten seems to me almost as if it’s not getting enough to eat or the right nutrition.

I will post some links for you on helping to care for the kitten. Pasteurized goat’s milk would be great for both mother and the kitten if you can get it. You can get refrigerated, canned, or powdered here in the states, but not sure where you are. If you have access to a goat, you can pasteurize it yourself by heating it.

Yes, please do. I am anxious for you to find out what’s wrong with your kitten. Prayers and healing vibes that it’s nothing serious.

This morning condition got worse. The kitten was crawling out of pain. I took him/her(?) to the vet immediately. They gave an injection to her and said it could be due to worms and it might not be pooping. They gave tablet for a day (2 times) and a syrup for deworming and another syrup “carmicide” that I have to feed 2 times per day for the next 10-13 days.

Now she is getting better here. Hope she her round belly will get normal in a week.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice. I will keep this thread up to date based on the progress

So sad this kitten was in so much pain. I hope the medications help to resolve her problems JKumar! Keep an eye on her when she is pooping to see if she has dead or dying worms in her poop. Most kittens do have them since they get them from their mothers and from fleas.

Remember to try and give her good food in addition to her mother’s milk especially if she is at least 4 weeks old or so. If the mother is bringing her rodents or birds to eat, she could also be getting the worms from them if she eats them. A good wet food with some goat’s milk or formula would be best for her now.

    Please keep us updated!

You’ll need to post a different picture. Most use an account with photobucket.com. It’s free and simple.

    thanks

Glad the little one came around.

Yep, gonna need a better pic. But, the female vulva is right underneath the anus and the male penile opening is a bit lower, either should be somewhat bald. If you see a slight bulge under the anus, that would be testicles, another sign.
