For the past few years I have been donating to my hometown’s animal shelter around this time of year. I ‘purchase’ a bulb for the holiday tree – red for a living animal and white for deceased. I’ve been going thru threads and have taken some notes throughout the year, but I’m hoping for some help from YOU!

SHOUT OUT TO NEWBIES – please add your pet(s) to this thread. If you have come here due to the loss of your pet, please add their name.

ANYONE AND EVERYONE – please add pets that are new in your life in 2013 or late 2012. Please add pets who have gone to the Meadow in 2013 or late 2012.

If you’ve missed my project over the past couple of years, and want your pet recognized, add your pet’s name.

I need to complete the list by December 1st. The tree will be lit on December 8th, and the names of all the animals will be read.

I look forward to hearing from you. I could just donate, but this is so much more meaningful and personal. THANK YOU!! =^..^=

My Lunalesca… June 9th, 2011 – March 2013. She was too young and I miss her every day. I reread the Easter time at the meadow, and cried like I did the first time I read it.
And my Harry, who came into this world July 10th 2013 and came into my life July 23rd. It’s been a rough start but he’s a fighter and such a love. He’s very effectively buried himself in my heart.

My losses for the last few years are Kinker 2006, MAxster 2009, Ms. B 2011 and Haje June 2013…boy I miss all of them, each hold a piece of my heart. Trying so hard to not add to the Crew….

What a beautiful idea, Joan. May I add a red light for my Jes, and another for Aggie, the foster cat I “sponsor”? Aggie lives at Tree House Animal shelter in Chicago, and they do a similar thing at Christmas. They call it Lights of Love and I always donate at least a few lights. Someday I will go there and see the tree being lit up…

My diva Scoot was new to the family last Sept 2012.

Little feral kit (Pat) from Gabby’s litter passed to Meadow this Nov. 2013.

Joan… Such a generous and loving way to donate to the local animal shelter. My only addition would be a white bulb for our Divot, that passed at 18 years 6 months, this June.(2013). 🙁

This year I lost my furry soul mate but she is not a cat. Lissy Van Da Rada was her name on her papers. She was the perfect wire-haired dachshund that had ever been. She ruled the house and all that was in it, and she held me together when I didn’t know if I would see him again. The pain of her being gone is one that so many know here–it is an empty ache that never seems to cease.

I lost my precious Perry (age 17 yrs.) in May 2013. His full name is “Periwinkle Michael Patrick Wizzer”, if you want to use that. Thank you SO much for including him as well. You DO have such a kind and loving heart. SO generous of you to do this for all of us. HUGS Thank you!!!

Oh oh Joan I think you had my “Smelly Cat” on the meadow list I remember you saying a few people got a good laugh which I’m sure he would have loved .. Could you please add My Lady Muck and my other meadow kitty Maneki Neko.. Also my sisters cat Benson ( bob , Dr Jeckyll & Miss Hyde’s sister from previous litter) she died this year do you remember? She went missing for a few weeks and my dad found her in the atic loft she’d obviously come home to die 🙁
