Is it normal weight for an exactly 4 months old kitten to weigh 1.77 kilograms that is 3.9 pounds ? Wat is the average weight of a healthy 4 months old female kitten.? Also can i spay my cat at this stage? Is it a good idea to get her spayed at this time with this body weight of her?.

yes, she can be spayed now. our aspca asks that they weigh over 2 lbs.

kittens will grow approximately 1 lb per month, so she is right on target !!!

One pound a month is considered “normal” but kitten’s growth will vary depending on sex, gestation, breed, genetics, nutrition, etc. As long as she’s steadily gaining weight she’s fine.

Most places will spay a kitten starting from 2 or 3lbs, so yeah she can be spayed. Make sure she doesn’t have any respiratory problems. It’s a good idea because it’ll prevent her from going into heat.
