I just collected my bf from work. I was only gone half an hour and on the way home very near our road was a 8 our 10th week old kitten dead on the road. It wasn’t there when i was leaving to collect my bf . Im a bit upset now if I’d of seen it around i would have taken it in. Now its dead and it would have been killed only minutes after i left!!

Now i feel guilty!! We moved it off the road and now im smuggling up to my furrybabies so sad!! It was such a beautiful healthy looking kitten.

Awww Button’s, I’m sorry 🙁 Please, please don’t feel guilty, you couldn’t do anything for the poor thing, and you would have had to be psychic to know that it was going to be there. None of us is psychic (as far as I know), so beating yourself up about what you might have done is pointless.

I know your right its just i know all the cats in the area and i don’t know where this one came out of. I might have to go to the neighbours i don’t like as the girl that lives there normally has cats but as far as i was aware she only had the one black female as she lost 2 kittens about 2 months ago one disappeared and the other was in the engine one morning when she started her car :'(

I don’t talk to them but if it was my cat i would want to know what happened to it. That is if its just even her cat?? I know her black cat hangs around where i found the kitten.

It would be nice of you to at least ask her, just try to keep the conversation short & simple.

Oh Buttons, I am sorry for what happened. Sometimes accidents happen. I think it was awesome that you removed the body from the road. I do that too, I cant bear the thought of adding insult to injury by allowing the body to remain for more abuse. Hug your cat kids tight, as this world is full of unknowns. Going to talk to this neighbor is a good idea, as you stated if it was your cat you would like to know. Take care!

Yeh i’ll diffinatenly say something to the neighbours i’ll have to pick my timing though as they are a bit stand-off-ish. I’ll go past their place tomorrow. At least the poor fella didn’t seem to suffer it was a quick blow to the head.

I never leave a dead animal on the roadside. I have moved ducks, mink, rabbits, hares, badgers , cats ever animal imaginable i just think if i leave them there its disrespectful to their lives.

I always bless myself and ask St Francis to watch over there souls. My friends think im nuts but i will do it all the same every living creature deserves respect. If it isn’t the neighbours i’ll still bury him tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I feel lot better today. I found out the kitten wasn’t the.neighbours she.is pregnant and wasn’t taking in anymore cats so im gone go back now and if he is still there I’ll bury him. I did drive past last night and i could’nt see him so maybe whoever owned him already spotted him but I’ll double check anyway.

It was good of you to go talk to the neighbor, at least you know you could do that much. You’ve done more than most people would do.

Poor thing was still there. I only had an crisp bag in the car so i put her in that. I just finished burying her she was no more than 10 weeks old bless her i called her “crisp”. She is in a better place now. And I’ll keep my eye out for any other kittens if she was from a feral litter.

How kind of you to give Crisp the gift of a dignified burial. She will remember you at the Meadow; she’s certainly been made very comfortable by the Wolf, Mama Cat and the Kitten Pack.

Aww, that was so nice of you. Anytime I see an animal that was hit by a car it upsets me for the whole day—can’t people be more responsible with their pets?

Oh, I’m so sorry. Hugs. But I’m glad you found Crisp and put her to rest. Poor wee kitty 🙁

That must have been so upsetting for you. There was nothing you could have done though.

Here’s some happy news for you… I was out for a walk with my dh yesterday evening, and I saw another couple from the neighbourhood rescuing a kitten from the side of the road! They scooped it up in a pile of blankets, and ran to the vet’s office nearby. Someone has a new friend today!

Ah that’s good news. I suppose for everyone that suffers hopefully a few are saved.

Her head rests against the chest of the Great Wolf, and she purrs, softly and happily. Warm and safe, she blinks sleepily, watching the sunlight streaming through the green leaves of the great Tree next to the sparkling Brook. When she wakes, she will meet The Kitten Pack, a collection of tiny rogues and sweet voices whose presence in the Meadow blesses and enchants.

For now, the little one hears the heartbeat of her dear friend and she knows the faces that surround her: Mama Cat, Kerrie, and Emma Blue, the three who now have a new baby in the Meadow to love and wash and spoil.

Crisp knows who loved her, and who will come for her, and she will wait for the last one to love her on earth before she came to the Life after life.

She sleeps, smiling, this morning in the Meadow.

Buttons, I am sorry for the loss of Crisp. You did all anyone can do. You gave the little one a proper burial and he went to the meadow. You did good.

Nice one again, Emma. I am sure Buttons will find comfort in your words.
