I don’t watch the show so had no idea, but I just got an e-mail from the Hydro Assn; apparently there’s a plotline with 2 characters adopting a baby from Africa with hydrocephalus. Anybody see it? I may have to go find it on Hulu or somewhere.

Doesn’t GA play on ABC, if so you might be able to see it there too.

I’ll try that too, thanks, Deb. The Assn. was encouraging people to contact their ABC affiliates & encourage them to do news stories about hydro pegged off of the GA episode.

On an unrelated note, Mr. K just e-mailed me a picture that a friend took of us last week; I e-mailed back “who’s that handsome guy?” to which he replied, “Who’s looking at the guy? I’m looking at his beautiful wife”

    I love my Mr. K 🙂

BTW, the hydro patient actually had Chiari! Go figure! A coworker emailed me about it! They said it was pretty glossed over and they didn’t go into details about hydro OR Chiari. Surprise!

The Disease a Day website actually used the episode to help others understand Izzie’s biology teacher’s condition (NPH). The website has a nice way of describing the medical issue.

The NPH episode was a while ago, and it was good to see them addressing hydro in any way, but NPH is different than hydro that’s present from birth, which I gather is what they’re depicting now, with 2 of the show’s main characters adopting a baby with hydro. You would think that they would pretty much have to go into details eventually, unless they’re just going to kill off the baby (which would be awful).
