Ok I have to give you my famous recipe for Crockpot corned beef are you ready?

put the corned beef into the crockpot… Buy a can of cheap beer(the cheapest you can buy the best I ever used was Pathmarks no frills) pour over the corned beef add minced onions and garlic and enough water to just cover the corned beef cook on high for 5to 6 hours.

I have a st. patricks party every year! It’s the sunday before st pat’s day the same day as the Rocky point parade(Yesterday) I had a few friends over this year do to $ problems. Anyhow We usually have anywhere from 25 to 65 people! 10 to 40 lbs of corned beef, 5 to 20 lbs of potatoes,1 to 5 lbs of carrots, and 3 to 6 heads of cabbage! I have used this recipe forever and have people ask me to make it for them I tell them the recipe and they can’t believe it till they make it!

Also an Irish Tradition is to plant a potatoe at sundown on St. patricks day, for peace and prosperity through the new year(I didn’t do this last year It explains a lot)

Happy St. Patricks day from a true Irish woman(My grandmother was from Kenmare)

I do too Dee–especially with ground lamb. That was how I thought it was always cooked–didn’t know people used hamburger until about 5 years ago.

Dorie I have planted a potato on St. Patrick’s day, but I was told it was to be a reminder of the famine. Different oral traditions. My family is from Westmeath originally–but the past 4 generations have been born in America.

OMG Dee, that cheesecake looks insane (let’s see, Mr. K loves Guiness and I love chocolate – I think we have a winner!)

Just got home from a neighbourhood party at Cousin Spike’s house. I absolutely love my ‘hood. I’ve never lived anywhere where the neighbours are so connected and so friendly.

We had a potluck and everyone brought something green (go figure). Spike and Jax’s meowmy made the corned beef and cabbage. The rest of us brought split pea soup, green salad, shamrock spritz cookies, green cupcakes, green beer, green cheese and gin (in a green bottle).

Spike’s meowmy told me again how touched she was by the outpouring of love and concern you all gave when Baby Harley went to the bridge. They asked that I thank you again for touching their lives the way you did. TDK rocks.
