Hey everyone! My name is Liz, a 25 year young, life-long cat lover.

I just got the most adorable Siamese kitten this past Saturday. I had to get Siamese, I grew up with my Mom’s 4 Siamese cats and couldn’t imagine not having one of my own around my apartment!

After the 3 1/2 drive, we finally got home and Sasha was so scared. She wouldn’t come out of her kennel, so I petted her and she purred for awhile. I made sure she knew where the litter box was and her food/water. She’s been perfect about using the litter box and she sure is an eater. She hides under the bed 24/7 and always runs away when I walk near, however, she started exploring the apartment on Sunday. Monday, she started to play string with me, but would only play under the bed. Tuesday – took her to the vet and afterwards, I wrapped her up in a blanket and she fell asleep on my lap. Last night, I woke up with her sniffing my face and then jumped off! Haha.

Today, she’s still under the bed. I can get her out to play a little bit, but she’ll do a little dance with the string and run back under the bed. She’ll let me pet her when I bring her food. She meows a bunch randomly (but Siamese are pretty meowy anyways). I guess I’ve never really had a problem with a kitten being scared of me so I’m not sure what to do to let her know I’m one of the good ones! Either way, I feel like we’re making progress! ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome Liz! Sasha sounds like a fun kitten. I hope you will submit a pic so she can be featured as The Daily Kitten!
As you are probably finding out, patience is key. As Sasha gets used to her surroundings and you and your voice, she will surely come out of her shell and become the quintessential Siamese kitty!
My Leela was the first kitten I had in 16 years. I forgot what it was like to have a wee one and I shuffled my feet playfully at her. She backed up, got all poofy and looked at me like she didn’t know me. That’s when I realized she didn’t.
Good luck – hope to see you and Sasha here again. Please feel free to jump in on any thread.

welcome! yes, it will take her awhile to get used to a new place. this is normal. you can try to place some little items like a shirt or blanket with the house smell with her in a room, and gently ease her out till she accepts the house. god luck!

Welcome to TDK Liz, Sasha will soon find her bravery and forget all about hiding. Just try sitting quietly near her and let her come out to you while you talk gently to her. Before you know it she will be into all sorts of cat antics that will drive you crazy and make you laugh.
    She is a cutie(your avatar).

She’s a little seal-point meezer! Three kitties? I bet they’re never bored! I want to get Sasha a buddy down the road, not sure if the boyfriend would like that but what does he know? ๐Ÿ˜†

    Hey Liz!
So right re boyfriends! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am owned by a 4 yr old silver gray tabby named Dorian Gray Esq., but he’s always called Dorry. He’s the kit in my avatar. He might get bored at times, but has not dissed me as yet (not that I am aware of, that is). LOL

Great idea Liz…kits enjoy company! Easier to integrate another newbie while kits are still young! Good luck!
Here’s a great link for Seal point Meezers:

Difference between Choco point & Seal point Meezers:
(After reading/viewing pics think my Sushi was a Seal point too/LOL!)
The Chocolate point Siamese is different from the Seal point in that the body is ivory with no shading and the points are a deep chocolate brown, warm in tone.
