I found a kitten only a few days ago Im not sure how old he is as his ears aren’t erect yet but he can walk and desecate himself. I’ve been bottle feeding him since I’ve found him kitten formula and he’s been enjoying it, grown stronger thankfully however he cannot eat solid foods. I’m afraid to let him eat from a bowl because he dunks his head into the bowl and instead of licking the milk he sniffs it up and starts sneezing like crazy so I decided to bottle feed him instead. He also only sucks on solid foods instead of chewing it. I’m not sure what to do so any help would be amazing. Thank you!

The sniffing up of milk and water is pretty common when kits first start on eating from a saucer. Try mixing a little wet food in with his formula to make a sort of gruel, cut the end of the nipple off and see if he will eat that. You can also put some wet food (pate’ style, with no chunks or shreds is best)on your finger or spoon and put a tiny bit on the roof of his mouth and watch him try and eat it. You can do the same with the gruel. He will finally understand what he’s supposed to do and remember, kittens always make a mess at first. So after he’s finished eating, it’s good to wipe them off with a damp cloth to clean their faces and paws.
