Oh Boy, AV, I’m so happy to get your post to me! So, you’re a former ballerina; my youngest granddaughter has been taking ballerina since she was 2! Of course, she wasn’t really dancing; she started out as the little bunny that runs across the stage at the beginning of The Nutcracker and she’s been in classes and performed in that ballet and many others ever since. This summer she applied to 5 different ballet schools and was accepted to 3. She chose one in or around D.C. and she and her mother lived in a B&B for a month up there. For years, the two of them have gone to Pennsylvania for 3 weeks in the summer to some ballet camp or school. She wants to become a professional ballerina and I hope she succeeds. Her teachers say she is very talented. Thank goodness she doesn’t have a physique like me and her mother. Mari was adopted from China at almost 1 year old. You would be surprised to see how tiny she was—only the size of a 4-5 month-old-baby! Her head was flat in the back from lying in a crib for so long and she had ring markings around her ankles where she was tied to a potty chair b/c I understand the caretakers put them there and tie them so they won’t get up in order to teach them to potty there and not in a diaper. But she’s now a beautiful and very smart young lady of 13. The one thing we’ve always noted about her is her long feet; even when she was tiny, the length of her feet was out of proportion to the rest of her. Of course, we’ve never kidded her about it.
I’m sure you know much more about ballet than I do, which is nothing. I haven’t thought to ask if attending that school would have any significance on her future plans to become professional. What do you think?
So you get blamed for “global warming”, huh? That’s a laugh! Well, please let me know if South Carolina will have snow (not) this winter. Yes, I’ll keep reading older posts and hopefully learn why you’ve received such a ridiculous accusation.
I don’t know how old you are and I’m not asking; I just think it’s great that you can still get into that tutu. I still weigh the same as when I was young and pretty but the main parts have shifted and aren’t in the same place anymore. LOL but not kidding! I still have some of the lovely clothes from my 20’s but can’t wear them. I must admit, though, that I’m extremely NOT in shape. I used to work out every day and was in great shape but the hip replacement and open-heart surgery have really knocked me down. Before that, when I had my knee replaced, I couldn’t run anymore but I still kept in shape. It’s been 3 months since the heart surgery and I still cannot do anything physically exerting. For instance, if my 12-pound baby, Buddy, slips out the door by me and I go get him and carry him back in, I’m completely out of breath! I asked people on the internet who’ve had heart surgery how long it took to recover and some said over a year! I know that’s not true for everybody; for example, there was one guy 27 years old and who went to the gym every day and was very muscular who said he was back at it in only 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I’m neither muscular nor 27 years old (turn it around) but I am very impatient.
Are you a native of Florida? Is Tampa on the Gulf side? I’ll have to look it up but do you have the same season all year and do you like having sunshine and warmth every day of the year? Oh Lord, stupid question.
Thanks for explaining the abbreviation, etc., to me and Happy Halloween and/or Happy Monday.
P.S. I think Abbigale Violet is such a pretty name.
