Protect your kitties by keeping them inside on the holidays! Especially with black cats, who can find themselves in terrible situations with terrible people. If you see people trying to find homes for black kitties in high risk areas, remind them that this time of year is very unsafe for black kitties. It is terrible, but true. Also, try to snuff out the superstition that black cats are bad luck! Black cats walking towards you or in your home are good luck. Our beautiful black fuzzy furfriends are just as deserving of homes and love as any other cat (: I thank the people here who love and cherish their animals. It warms my heart to know there are people out there who care about animals as much as I do (:

I agree totally! I have a kind of funny story about black cats and Halloween. See my dad never has been a cat person. When I was growing up he merely tolerated all the ones that owned my mom and me. Well the halloween I was 3 we had just gotten a solid blackfemale kitten that I had named Blackie (that name has many other awkward moment stories) well it was late and I was already asleep when the boy who lived next door showed up with a little black kitten which he handed to my dad saying I found your cat. My dad takes the kitten and puts it in the garage not thanking anything but I told her Halloween isn’t safe for black kitty’s. Well imagine his surprise when I came in the next morning saying look daddy now we have 2 kitty’s 🙂 The other kitten was a boy and I named him Kitten Little (yeah I was real creative) lol but Blackie and Kitten little lived a long and happy life together. I had them until well into my teens.

All my outdoor furry babies will be in Halloween night and tomorrow we have a car rally passing nearby… its terrible what happens to animals around this time of year… also personally I always thought black cats are good luck or maybe its just cause i have a phobia of white cats and think they are bad luck but i know thats silly 🙂

I totally agree! There are black ferals here (not in the true sense of the word; they know human contact) – hopefully neighbor will be able to round them up and get them inside, especially with the storm coming.

Halloween is less than 2 days away! I would keep kitties inside from now until it passes (: Also keep an eye out for any inhumane activity! Cats can’t do much to defend themselves so we have to take the precautions to keep them safe!

I heard on the radio that Halloween is the biggest night of the year for pedestrian accidents as well as danger for fur family members. Everyone be careful and stay safe as you enjoy the festivities. Have a fun holiday evening everyone!

Thanks KIT for sharing the article.;) Since Halloween has come and kids will be tallying up their candy haul and mothers and fathers will be lamenting their children being turbocharged by sugar. Some may be questioning what the best-selling Halloween candy is which, perhaps astonishingly, turns out to be candy corn. You can visit this article here for more info:
