If I wasn’t so pushed for time I would make a batch or two of GD’s nuts. They are so good. I still can’t find the savoury verion of the recipe I made a couple of years ago although I do know I used smoked paprika and garlic powder.

LOL, 12P, I’m glad you finally made the. I’ve got to make a couple of batches this coming week. Yummy, aren’t they? And easy to make, too!

That is one of the great things with this recipe – it is quick and easy as well tasting great! I made these again this year (almonds, walnuts & pecans in mine), I got a big batch of them done before started my housework one morning.

These are awesome. Had a ton of almonds so I used those. And Coconut oil subs for the canola just fine….and sea salt for the kosher. Thanks for the recipe, GD!

Just made a large batch of Great Dane’s nuts for Christmas.
This must be the fourth year I have made them, family expect them now.
Used some of my own homemade vanilla extract.

It’s that time of year again.
    Time to go nuts –

    Yes it’s GD’s Christmas/Seasonal nuts time.
I have my nuts all sorted – or so I thought. I need macadamias, pistachios and more pecans. Then I will make a heap of those gorgeous spiced nuts and maybe even attempt to recreate the savoury recipe I made a few years back and didn’t write the recipe down.
Give them a try, they are so easy and absolutely scrumptious. Make extra though as you will find you never have enough.
JK, I will send some through the wormhole for you when I get them done.
    🙂

Huge pile of nuts are now cooling. I did GD’s spicy recipe and added some coriander powder and also created a savoury recipe with onion salt, garlic granules, lime and chilli spice, cumin powder, smoked paprika and curry powder. Both are excellent and I hope they make it too Christmas. I will have to package them up to stop myself nibbling at them.
At least now I can look back to this thread so I know what I put in the savoury recipe. 🙄
