It’s been 5 years since the stray kitty my mom was feeding had her babies in the safety of the local shelter. It had been cold in the month or 2 earlier and mom felt sorry for her and fed her. She couldn’t let her in, but the cat came every day for food, and when mom noticed she was a mama to be, had her trapped and brought to the shelter. They asked mom what her name was, and since it was close to St. Patrick’s Day, she named her Paddy. A co-worker of mine adopted one of the kittens, and a neighbor of mom’s adopted Paddy and one of her kittens. Yay Paddy!

The wearin’ of the green is starting already on this eve of St. Patrick’s Day. Lots of noms and drinks are here in the lounge and there’s green beer on tap.

    Welcome!

I couldn’t find another feather toy in Stop & Shop today, but found a wand that has Angry Birds attachments. He’s going to be stopping by the lounge with it. He wants everyone to play with him but watch out – he’s quite the jumper!

Oooh, a night shift! Hi Joan 🙂

Good luck with the wand toy! Please be careful though? Tiggy once nearly strangled himself with one while I wasnt looking.

Hi Sky! Yeah, that’s why I hide it. He’s howling for it now! We tried it out for a bit before dinner and now he wants round 2!

Hiya CSBM! Two tabby cats should be delivering your order right about now – enjoy!

Well, Comet doesn’t really like the new toy; I eventually took out the sorry remains of the pink feather toy. It’s much lighter and perfect for my little jumping boy.

On the plus side, Leela seems to like the Angry Birds toy. She’s a chaser, and likes the weight of it. She caught up to it before and picked it up and carried around for a minute.

I think the fun level is pretty even 🙂

A knock on the NS door reveals a delivery person wearing a birthday hat. he has a large sheet cake and lots of ice cream. the cake says “Happy Birthday CBM” and is decorated in blue with red and yellow frosting balloons.the cake is half vanilla and half chocolate.

Joan signs for the cake and ice cream. Someone gets a cake knife, plates, napkins, bowls and spoons…Party time !!!

There are people everywhere wearing green today, I’d say more people are getting into wearing green but not necessarily into the organised events. Probably these difficult financial times are a factor there.

We’ll be happy with green sausages and colcannon with Guinness gravy.

I wonder if my Grandfather from Dublin I never met would be impressed or not.

I’m going to make my version of Shepard’s Pie: beef cubes, mixed veggies, brown gravy, mashed potatoes and cheese.

Just did my nails in a funky pastel shade of green. It might scare me tomorrow when I see it in daylight!

Sound delicious and warming Joan. I love finely chopped raw onion in my mashed potato.

LOL at the green nails. That’s the sort of thing KK does, green nails and then eeeekk the next day.

……………… some of my Gasparilla beads have green shamrocks on them, so I think I’ll wear them tomorrow and be done with it……….

……….. so far, I’ve had my fill of corned beef, but will probably drag a brisket or two out this weekend………….. probably make some black eye peas and cabbage to go with that, oh yeah *hits head*……….. I’m half Irish!…….. LOL

Actually my feet are still in winter mode so the toenails are sans polish. In the nice weather, however, I paint them in a different wacky shade each week!

I’m not Irish, but I ride on the coattails of “we’re all Irish for one day”.
