…. went for an early dinner, and waiting for dark, so we can walk down to see the trick r treaters ….. so much fun to stroll the neighborhood and see all the costumes! …. brings fond memories of when my children were little ….

Mmmm, the brew in the cauldron really hits the spot! For me, it tastes like hot cider 🙂
Deb, the giraffe baby vid is awesome!

Happy Halloween all, we only had one little trick or treater knock at the door lastnight. The shops may be pushing Halloween here but the children aren’t taking it up really.
It’s a beautiful sunny but windy Saturday here and I am busy busy busy outside and probably won’t be in the cafe until much later.
Swipes a large glass under the fountain as I head out the door. Looks like I got a caipirinha drink, perfect for a hot sunny day.
    See y’all laters.

Hi MS – had to look up caipirinha, it sounds very refreshing!
Enjoy your day! Not sure how late I’ll be up but maybe see you later and see what else the cauldron serves up.

Hello all! Had a nice Halloween evening! Was up at neighbors house enjoying the campfire while waiting for Trick-or-treaters. We had about 12-15 or so. They came between 5-8. The weather was nice too and the moon even made a showing! I gave out Kit Kats, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and M&M packets.
Poor Gavin missed me. As soon as I came over to the computer, he climbed up on me and wanted to be held. Awwww…. My snuggly wittle baby!

Aww, sweet Gavin! Our kitties were glad to see us come home too. We don’t go out after dinner very often. Took the kids trick-or-treating and they got their fill of candy….happy boys.

Grand total of 5 kids. Gave out mini 3 musketeers, Milky Way, twix, & snickers. Glad they are bite size, will use leftovers to garnish desserts for the holidays. Oh and I’m sure we will eat a bunch of them too!

Mmm, you all sound like you gave out the good stuff…chocolate! BB, youngest son wore a Star Wars Jedi costume we’ve used for seven years now (hubby’s sister made it for her son then handed it down to us) and older son wore a shirt with an idea I snagged off the Internet. He was an error message. With a sharpie I wrote on a white T-shirt, “Error 404…Costume not found.” People got a kick out of it. And it was perfect because I prefer not to put a lot of money or effort into Halloween costumes. We reuse them a lot. I still don’t think my kids realize most kids dress up in a new costume every year…lol. I don’t think they’d care though. As long as there’s candy. :).

Nothing wrong with repeat costumes. Hey, as long as there’s candy! Great costumes! The error msg is genius!
I still have 2 of hubby’s masks from when he was a kid. Would never be able to use them, as they’re fragile and only have lasted because of the protective plastic mold they get stored in. I keep them because you just don’t see masks like these anymore.
When I was a kid most of us were almost always hobos. We could add as many layers of flannel shirts as necessary (raided brothers’ closet) depending on the weather. pillowcases held a lot of candy too.
Sat on the front steps with neighbor’s young girls. Got hugs and heard all about their day, and admired Comet, who was looking out the door. If it wasn’t so late I would have had them come in, but they were getting tired. Will see if they can come over and play with him one if these days, I think Comet would be great with kids – would just have to take care that he doesn’t stick his claws out.
I’ve been enjoying hot cider, and the house is toasty warm with the woodburner going.

Sounds cozy, Joan. So nice to visit with neighbors too. Hobos…there’s a good costume idea. I bet we have stuff around the house to put that together. :).

…. well, the blocks around our neighborhood were FULL of little trick or treaters …. so cute! saw lots of the girl from Frozen, many other princesses, ninjas (the turtles have made a comeback), Xmen, the avengers, and my favorite of all was my nephew – a carrot! he’s 7th grade at that ‘too cool’ stage to really want to dress up, so he wore an orange shirt, orange shorts and a green baseball cap …. I had to LOL!

…. oh, and lots of zombies too this year ….

…. the cauldron just served up a hot toddy for me, so I’m headed up to bed to sip on it and watch my shows…. have a great rest of Halloween all!

Time to get one more swipe from the cauldron and perhaps relax in the pool/hot tub before heading to bed. Maine Coon buddy has a plush towel and comfy cushions and blankets nearby in case I am too tired to leave TDK land. Ahhh, have I mentioned how much I love Friday evenings? They are the furthest time span between worries. (Providing I can keep the worries at bay for a couple of days!)
    If I don’t check back in, nighty-night!

Joan, bet if the kids played with the feather sticks, Comet would be in heaven 🙂

Guess there were about 500 or so T or T kids in our neighbourhood, I know that my doorbell was rang quite a few times…don’t know why since the porch light was off and nothing decorated in the front at all. I was trying to nap before coming into ‘this place’ tonight but it was worth a try anyways….if I had been awake I would have passed out candy and looked at all the cute little costumes, sigh. Grandaugther Becca was Anna 🙂

Went to go see the movie St. Vincent yesterday, it has Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy and Naomi Watts in it….good movie, thought it would be but it was even better than I imagined. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2170593/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Actually even watched 10 minutes of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, flipped the channels after that, they played it over and over again yesterday.
