Friday 28-02-2014 – "TDK" Hawaiian Par-tay

Hahaha…luv it! Yup, need a virtual trip to HI today! Still cold/but sunny around here. Forecasting snow for our meager warm up this wknd…sigh!

Crockey & Luck are pacing their gear and heading out thru the worm hole soon. Scoot is getting organized & bringing along some new nail enamels
to match tropical theme w/decals to share w/diva Miss Leela & anyone else who joins the paaarty.
For the time being, grabbing a cuppa joe – chcoo mint & back I go to part 1 day 5 as end of month fun…Now a smooch for Tux, later kits.

Crockpot Chile Flank Steak
Ingredients

1 Flank Steak – 1 3/4 lbs to 2 lbs (cut in half)
1 small can of green chiles
1 large red onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1/4 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 cup of water
1 tbsp of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic minced
Directions

In a medium pan, brown flank steak in olive oil on both sides and place in the bottom of slow cooker.
Add in the remaining ingredients and cover.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours if you prefer it sliced, cook 5-6 hours if you prefer it shredded. Serve shredded over rice, in a tortilla or even plain.

Seems a party is just what the doctor ordered for us. I believe that is Don Ho playing somewhere. The big Maine Coon, Tux, Crockey, Jes, Dorry, Lucky and Freddie have rounded up the agency boys to try their paws at surfing. There are some small waves on the summer side. (Interesting note: sometimes I look out that direction and see a calm lake surrounded by trees and a small beach, other times there’s an ocean, go figure). Sophie and Scoot want to try too, no reason girls can’t surf, but they want to do up their claws and chat about boy cats for a while first.
I am enjoying a tasty pineapple drink. It was really nice of that tortie barmaid to put an umbrella and an orange slice in it. Maybe later I will have another, but with an added kick for happy hour!

I didn’t, Commune. Bethanny’s story is quite inspiring. Leela says she will snap a photo of Sophie on a surfboard and send it to you.
