    I tried playing tennis when I was a kit, but I wasn’t any good at it. We had a tennis court at the school that was close to where we lived, and kids would walk down to it looking for someone else that wanted to play. It was fun and carefree and no one had to worry about us playing unsupervised–so unlike today’s kids. But that’s another topic altogether. 😥

    Peso loves to play with any ball, big or small, because he still acts like a toddler!

    Tennis is a no-go for me as I’d make a racket on the court about the racquet being too heavy for me to manage. 😉 I did enjoy badminton as the racquet is way light.

    Anyone up on ID’ing birds? This am I saw a gorgeous small red bird, cardinal colour, but did not have crest like a cardinal. I even stopped to make sure that I wasn’t seeing things. 😉

    “They” predict freezing rain l8r, so I guess I’ll take my cleats with me to Knitting Circle and wear the sturdier boots. *Sigh*

    Happy TGIF all! Well, another record for heat here in lovely Florida! Broke the record going back to the 1880s for most consecutive days over 80 in February ….. also record highs ((88) for four of those days! …. where is Spring?

    Never been a tennis fan, if I’m going to whack at a ball, it’s golf for me – then leisurely stroll up to the next shot! ….

    the pollen is so bad right now, I feel like someone packed my head with cotton! …. and of course there’s no getting away from the lovely green sheen that’s all over everything ….. car wash, here I come this weekend!

    Well, I finished my first two rounds of continuing education, only 4 more to go! LOL …… at least the next two aren’t due til August! …. have a great evening everyone, go do something fun!!

    {waving} Not much of tennis player, either, but I use the tennis balls in the dryer when I’m drying my comforters. It cuts down on the down feathers clumping.

    KJ, I’ve got my bird ID expert working on your question. I’ll let you know if he gets an answer.

    I love the idea of playing tennis…would love to take lessons. I took them as a six year old, then one lesson in college. I was told I was a natural…but then I was paying the guy…lol.

    This morning I taught my geography class by myself. Co-teacher was at Disney. It went well…almost done with Asia. Next up, Australia.

    KJ, three possibilities to google…scarlet tanager, red crossbill and purple finch. I’m curious if you saw a tanager…they look cool.

    Tks ECB! Looks like bird could be either red crossbill or purple finch (which is strange name in that it is red!) I wonder how birdie likes our weather! The scarlet tanager is stunning with it’s black wings!

    PG, I also use tennis balls when drying duvet, pillows and esp down-filled coats.

    Just got back from Knitting Circle. It is pouring and dreary out. So nice to be back indoors anticipating srs rest and a Caturday spent snuggled up in bed for the most part!

    I think your bird is probably a Scarlet Tanager. They’re a beautiful and do well in cities.

    ECB-maybe PolyMonster can give you a fun fact or two about Australia.

    I’d say purple finch, or house finch which are both a rosey red color…you would know a scarlet tanager because of it’s black wings.

    I’ve seen robins this week, and heard my red-winged blackbirds…what a welcome sight and song!
