ECB, since you asked here’s a pic of the sweater, although the raglan detailing and the ribbing doesn’t show up all that well. Very classic, and the fun part is that one can adjust the pattern somewhat. In this case I made the neckline higher as works better for me. Also original is way more fitted (or rather the model fills it out LOL,) but on me the look is longer and more of a straight 20s style.

Purdy sweater. I love the color.

I wondered about the legend of the Pied Piper. The best info is Hamelin was decimated by plague and they wanted the rats out of town. At least that’s the story I like best. 🙂

“Until now, Frank on the tight rope” is spot on.

Good morning! Thanks for posting the pic of your sweater, KJ. It’s so pretty! I’m always a little jealous of people who can make their own clothes….great skill to have.

Funny rat/cat pics today. The crossover pics remind me of a rat we had in science class in high school. The rat was destined to be lunch for the class pet snake. But everyone kept giving the rat candy and bits of food. It got too big to feed to the snake. Junk food saved its life!!

ECB, great story about the class rat….I’d really hate to think you would have to feed a pet to another pet… 😮
KJ, your sweater is beautiful! I also am envious of people who can make their own clothes.
It’s raining here at the moment, *she said with a thankful sigh*, would love it to be for the day, but it will be quickly gone. Rain all around us for the last 2 days, and never a drop here. So unfortunate when the corn and the beans are drying up in the fields. 😥

Tks ladies! I will say that I never thought that I’d ever be able to knit wearable items, so if I can learn basically from a book/INet, it’s doable.
Now please laugh with me not at me, but was cleaning micro and paint on tip interior srsly flaked off. I do not have luch with this appliance point in time. So After Knit Circle this pm I’m off to buy another one, they all seem to work/not work equally well, but I need one. And of course it would be a stinkin’ hot day. Not my worst prob, and sorta amusing, yet irritating too. At least as sun goes down ltr I have until 8-ish to light Sabbath candles and get into “rest” mode. L8R.

Hi everyone – seems I’m noticing the orange kitty pics today. Had a vivid dream about an orange kitten, hmmm…
I must echo the sentiments, KJ, your sweater is very nice and it is indeed a good skill to be able to make one’s own clothes. Being one of five children, mom made a lot of our clothes. I loved going to the fabric store and choosing a pattern and fabric for my back to school dress.
KJ, you have the oddest problems with microwaves! Not laughing at you or making fun, just noting. *sigh* Here’s hoping you have better luck with your next one. Have a restful Sabbath.
    Great crossover story, ECB!
Enjoy the movie and lunch, AV! Secret Life of Pets looks fun.
Oh PG, I do hope you feel better soon – upchucking is no fun at all.
I had a gift certificate to a restaurant for last night. Went there a few weeks ago with sister and she ended up booking the place for niece’s baby shower. The owner is a lovely Italian lady who knows her food, as well as how to run a successful business. She does everything from seating to bartending and oversees all that goes on.
It’s another super hot day here in Jersey, but summer still beats winter for me!

PG, I also hope that you feel better soon. Keep hydrated is what I can say and never do. If it comes to it and I hope that it doesn’t ask a doc re using electrolyte solution. I asked JJ to open Café on wknd if it’s not open Caturday, or I would do it but tomorrow nite. Nothing that you should worry about, you just take care of getting better.

PG, I hope you feel better soon.

EC, in college I had a roommate who kept a pet snake in an aquarium in our room. (She only lived there for one quarter; she moved to an apartment.) I think the snake used to eat rodents, but I never saw her being fed. She was fed once a week and excreted once a week. It seems she always did it over the weekend when my roommate was at her parents’ home. Now, snake poop smells horrible, so I would have to change the paper lining her cage. Put the soiled paper in a trash bag and threw it down the trash chute.

My cousin used to have a pet rat. They even make tiny harnesses and leashes for them.

Now I have to go start a new thread for a rant.

OK, checking back on today’s posts. The rat in the toilet is going to have this one checking ere I place myself on the “throne.” Srs creep-out factor! 😮
MS, your crossovers enhance our daily themes so much – and it can’t be all that easy so tks. Fun when we all get into it.
Finally home with new micro. So far … well I’m totally afraid to say anything. It’s like the equatorial jungle outside and then due to construction and road blockages my bus decided not to come on time. But when it did arrive driver (a woman, natch) was so helpful as I had little idea of where to get off to get to appliance/hardware store. But going to this branch of chain store saw me getting home much quicker with no traffic probs, so kudos for friend who suggested this. No, I was not going to carry the thing home, it took great effort to lift it at all. I so need to chill as day took toll on me. So have a fun Caturday all!

    An off-topic question:

So, I just did something I said I’d never do: I tried signing up for a Facebook page. Used a pseudonym, with my birthdate (they required that) the only information that was posted; also gave them an e-mail address and cell phone number for contact purposes. Found the TDK page; all I saw on it was the pictures of Daily Kits, some extra cat pix, and some links to Cats in Sinks and other KM properties. I can find that right here, so I asked to have my page deleted. It’s deactivated now and will be for 2 weeks; if I sign in again within that time, I can cancel the deletion.

What happens on the TDK Facebook page that doesn’t happen here? If there is anything more, how is it accessed?

Hi Leeny – former TDK posters formed a closed group titled “TDKF”. There are a few who are there and come here as well. When you send a request to join the group, one of the admins will ask for someone to vouch for you. This is to prevent trolls and other unsavory characters from joining the group. Being as they are a larger group than the regulars here, there are a lot more topics, but it’s very different from here. I’m there too, and will vouch for you as long as I recognize something about your name. If you’d like, you can email me at lv655b at yahoo dot com. While it’s nice to see old friends, the original TDK is my happy place. There is no daily café on TDKF, no daily kitten, and because it’s a closed group, people can’t come with their kitten/cat questions like they do here. Which leads me to a huge shout out to those who have the experience and have helped these folks.
Some of those who left wish for the good old days. I enjoyed those days, but I enjoy these days just as much!
