Moon Day commemorates the day man first walked on the moon in 1969. Do you remember watching it? Also, Monday is derived from Old English M?nandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means “moon day.” And MOANday!

“Where the hell is my ceiling?!” LOL

Selene, Proserpina, Luna, Cynthia (Artimis), Blue, Pink, The White Goddess – Earths’ moon has many names from many peoples over time. I love watching the moon. She’s beautiful and my moon (no pun intended) sign.

The Moon is the eye of the night

Alas, I cannot blame the moon for my lunacy! 😆

I LOVE the moon roof kittens! 😆 I am typing madly at the moment–there is a storm looming in the distance and I can hear the rumbling of thunder. I should have gotten in the shower before I came here but I didn’t and now I may have to wait. I was puttering around outside before it rolled in trying to clear water lettuce and hyacinth from my pond surface. I couldn’t even see my fishies’ faces in there, but the water is clear. We need rain and I’m looking forward to a rainy day, but I surely don’t want high winds and tornadoes!

I’m sure you know to be careful, KZ. Iowa got slammed with tornados yesterday. Paws crossed they miss you.

    The wee COA tortie!

    Yes KZ, take care!

Hot out and going out again for Knitting Circle, although part of me just wants to sleep – forgot the effect that the Assault Bike has – and “forgot” that I used it efurry day this week as “icing on my workout cake”.

Thanks for your concern guys, so far just thunder and rain–no wind and no ridiculous downpours with flooding. A much needed respite from July’s hot baking sunshine. The garden is sighing with relief and even my drought loving plants look a little happier today!

Happy TGIF all! …. it’s rained here most all day – we needed it! Now that the little orange guy has been relocated to Son’s house, Caddy is again, reigning Queen of the porch. She hasn’t moved today, been asleep on her pillow bench all day – too rainy for her to go out 😉

Son says Milo (that’s what he named the orangie) has acclimated quickly to his huge yard (completely fenced in) and loves it. He has a bed out on Son’s rear covered deck, so a nice place to stay warm and dry when it rains! He said he has even learned to come when Son calls, so I’d say he’s found a home! Soon when Lu and Ve move over, he’ll have sisters to play with through the windows (they don’t go out).

So I don’t know how many of you fellow Americans have renewed your drivers license recently, but I got the letter in the mail that I had to go down in person to the DMV to do mine. I think it’s by 2020 that everyone has to have that new yellow star on the license, or you won’t be able to get on a plane!. I had to take all my original stuff down there (birth certificate, social security, passport, etc.) they gave me a vision exam, and though they did’t test me – the letter said they were randomly requesting either a written exam, and/or a physical driving road test. Of course they took a new picture (they took my 20+ year old photo and replaced it with some old woman’s picture! LOL) …. anyway, it’s done. Hopefully I can renew another 20 years on-line like I had been doing.

I hope everyone has a great evening! See ya’ll on the flip side!

Good morning all, it’s cold today even though the sun is sort of shining.
LOL at ‘where the hell is my ceiling’, and as for the COA kitty, ThuuuPLOOF !
KZ, hope you got the rain without the winds and that you also got your shower.
JK, I bought myself an iced coffee and had it with my dinner last night and it was so good, even in the depths of Winter.
Oh KZ, glad you didn’t get heavy downpours but rain the ground could contend with easily.
AV, I have missed the story of the little orange guy so will have to read the last few days posts, sounds intriguing.
Wow AV, your driving licence update sounds like it could be nerve wracking in case you are asked to do a written or practical test especially for those who have had a licence for many decades. Yellow star ! no boarding a plane without it. I guess there is some system for non drivers. Oh no, how on earth did that ‘older’ not old woman’s picture get on your licence? 🙄 😉
Saturday here and tomorrow is going to be wet so I guess I should make the most of the dry weather. I got all my washing done yesterday so it looks like I’ll be in the garden today weeding around my vegetables. They are just beginning to start maturing, small heads of cabbages and broccoli appearing and the kale is big enough for picking as is the Swiss chard(silverbeet). Cauliflowers not showing any heads yet.
We have suddenly had an influx of our native songbird bird the Tui into our backyards and we have had up to 8 at a time in flowering cherry trees in the neighbours. Wonderful songs fill the air. The Tui are great at mimicking and we have one back for the third year(or maybe fourth) in a row, I know this because of his song. It sounds like the first 2-3 bars of Beethoven’s Fur Elise. I have tried teaching it a few more bars but no success so far.
    Catch y’all later.

MS, if you don’t have a drivers license, they issue an id. Everyone has to have one. Your garden sounds lovely, I wish I had a lot big enough to grow stuff, but alas, urban living doesn’t allow 🙁

Milo (as Son named him) is a stray orangie that showed up at my house, and kept running Caddy off her porch, territory. He’s a young, un-neutered male, so he terrified her. So I trapped him and relocated him to Son’s new home. He has a safe huge fenced in yard and will get 3 squares a day. He’s thrilled! And so is Caddy now that he’s gone. She has neighborhood friends, but they are neutered pets, so not threats, just pals.
Son will get him neutered/shots. He’s really friendly, not afraid of hoomans at all. We think he was abandoned.

Good evening – The moon is hiding behind some trees now but is set to make an appearance soon.
KZ, that happened to me the other day – delayed my shower in favor of some yard work then rushed into the shower before the approaching storm hit.

Oh and I’ll never forget Walter Cronkite’s kid-like excitement when we landed on the moon!

AV, thanks for the backstory on Milo. I’m not surprised Caddy was afraid of him, now if Shadz was still this side of the Rainbow Bridge she would have made him her toyboy even though she was fixed. LOL
Milo has to be the luckiest young cat in your city, a great fenced yard, 3 souares a day and 2 wonderful big sisters who will probably hiss at him through the glass. At least he is safe now and Caddy has her perfect lfe back.
Nodding about being AV’s age when we listened to the moon landing over the radio at school.
Our day has gone to hell, overcast to the max and had some spits of rain but the main rain is still coming. It has got colder too and I am pleased I stacked the wood rack inside up to the top with some good heavy chunks. I have a corned beef on the stove for dinner and will accompany it with potatoes, carrots and steamed greens.
