Lagatta, I don’t much buy prepared foods. I go with simple things, ie very few ingredients, very short preparation time. Omelets, baked frozen fish, pasta, etc. And for protein, cheese. And variety of breads. Srsly dairy. And kosher products easy to find in a major city. Certainly no need to watch “what” I eat – more like having to watch “that” I eat hehehe. Point being, that I don’t like cooking, nor entertaining/dining out. Just so not my thing.

My thing is working out for the sheer joy of it and the high that I get after. Don’t quite get it when cohorts say that they have to push themselves to get to gym.

As AV puts it we “do what we need to do.” 🙂

Me too. Painting and other visual arts are among my useless degrees, and I have held exhibitions and sold paintings and illustrations. I bit less in recent years, but hope to get back to it.

A rare time I actually enjoyed a bit of housework. It is sunny and a bit warmer than it had been in this so far cool and sometimes cold spring, and I washed my remaining merino pullovers by hand (those not moth-eaten, though I keep the wearable ones with holes for doing housework and such). And put them outside to dry and above all to air – even if washed regularly, I find knits get a musty odour in the wintertime.

Livia is out playing in our garden, and I’ll wait a bit before calling her back home (yes, she actually comes when called, at least usually) and setting out on my bicycle for much-needed exercise and to run some errands, and doubtless run into friends who emerge from hibernation. I need a haircut… This week.

kj, I love being active; riding my bicycle, gardening (far more strenuous than most non-gardeners think, doing stretches and dances with weights, just long walks … but I hate the gym. To each their own.

    100% agree Lagatta!

Next time you find yourself having to hand wash I’ll recommend the best product, vouched for by knitters the world over (OK, purrhaps I exaggerate!) It’s called SOAK and can be found in yarn shops and some lingerie places. The point of it is that you don’t have to rinse, which can be srsly trying as knits get awesomely heavy when wet. What I do is use the SOAK in a basin, squeeze out some of the water and prior to flat drying give the sweater a spin in machine’s rinse/spin cycle. Or one can just squeeze out by hand. The stuff is a bit costly but considering the amount used it lasts furever. And I prefur the unscented kind. 🙂
