Mine is a digital postal scale. I used it for my tortoise. I also have a food scale but he fell off it twice.

Oh, I bought it at Walmart or Meijer’s not for sure which one. It has been awhile. Son said he thought I bought it at Office Max. It goes up to 5 pounds.

Fantastic! That will help in seeing if she is gaining.

Anna, have you given your little girl a name yet? Hate calling her ‘girl’ all the time.

Haha I haven’t actually. We’ve(my boyfriend and I) have been calling her random nicknames but they’re such silly nicknames, we would never say them in public! LOL

Now if she would stay still on that scale of mine…

I used a small basket to put Eli in, even then he moved around a lot. But I would repeat it 3 times and watch carefully where it goes. About all you can do. Maybe get her when she is sleeping. I tried that too but Eli would wake up.

Ooh a basket is a good idea. I’ll have to look around the house for one. Thanks for all your input! I’m going to go to Petsmart in a bit and return the Royal Canin and buy the Wellness food.

One last question though(at least for now lol). I was looking at the Petsmart website and it said the Welness kitten canned food is an online only thing. Where have you found your Wellness food?

No, at least at my store it isn’t. I buy the kitten can and small bag at our local Petsmart.

Okay I’ll have to look when I go to return the Royal Canin. If not, I can always go to Petco and look there too.

Another dry and wet cat food I want to try is the Blue Buffalo Spa Select Chicken & Brown Rice for Kittens. Will pick some up next week when I go.

Okay I’ve come up with one more question. She hasn’t pooped since late yesterday which is when I started giving more of the wet food than the formula. She’s been peeing, but no BM. Should I be worried? Or when should I start worrying?

No, Elijah went about every other day at your kitty’s age. I am not sure how often he is going now. I just went over and looked and it looks like he has had two BM’s since I changed his litter on Thursday. Up till this week I would put him in the box every so often just to remind him.

So I would not be to worried. Here is a link to coupons for Wellness. buy 1 get 1 free. I found then after I went today. But it is good till the 23rd of Sept.

    Good monring all,

I’m a new kitty “Mom”. My concern is her BM’s she poops on herself and at random. When is it wise to introduce her to litter? And, is her pooping at random normal? Please help, she’s dirtying her bed and blankets and I wash her off, of course. It does not happen a lot, I’m just wondering if it is normal for them to just “go”.

    Thank you.

Hi Jes, you don’t mention how old your kitten is, so I can’t really be of much help. When they are under 4 to 5 weeks, they usually need stimulated to pee and poop. Occasionally, kittens will just go in their nests when they have to go. You can get a litter box that is small enough for her to get in and out of by herself, but she needs to be at least 5 weeks old or so. Use plain clay unscented non clumping litter for starters.
