Home from hospital and back at work; incision still hurts. Major news: tumor was not cancer. Was a “rare, benign” kidney tumor (accd. to pathologist) called an oncocytoma. Sounds malignant to me, but it isn’t.

While in hospital and just after coming home, I hallucinated cats. In hospital, there were two: a female (I somehow knew) moo-kitty and a male orangie. The moo-kitty would be curled on my bed; the orangie would be walking. Only saw them for a fraction of a second each time. At home, it was just thinking I saw movement. Once I thought I saw movement and heard a gentle “mew”; turned around fully expecting to see Penny but no one was there. Not at all frightening.

Leeny, this is fabulous news! Sorry the surgical site still hurts, but glad the hospital stay is behind you.
I’m not surprised you saw cats. They are the best medical care around and they were sent to look after you.

Very tired since coming back to work this week. Job is about all I can handle. Cleaned cats’ litter myself last evening and that finished me for the rest of the night. Have needed to go to bank and grocery store all week but haven’t had energy to get there. People at work have offered to go for me, but the stuff I get is very specific and can be hard to find.

Congrats on the Best news Leeny. Just remember to take it easy. There’s nothing so important (well, ok the your kitties 😛 ) that needs to be done except healing you mind and body.

Leeny are you able to do your shopping online and have it delivered to your house. It may cost a bit extra but it will be so much easier for you physically and less stressful too.

Don’t know of a place that will do that for groceries, MS. Wish there was such a service.

Waiting for a call back from a nurse at the surgeon’s office. Part of the incision isn’t healing right. About 1 to 1.5 in. (2.5 to 4 cm) at the end of the incision that wraps around my back looks like it’s filled in with a scab or some other dark material and is oozing a brown liquid that looks like old blood. It gets on my clothes and comes off on the washcloth. The rest of the incision is now just a line with staple spots above and below it. Recording at dr. office said call would be returned when they finished seeing patients in the morning and in the afternoon. Wonder if they meant it.

Side hurts, back hurts, start tiring at work after about 4 hrs.

Sorry that recovery is hitting some potholes and hope that this can be resolved. On the grocery side, any way that you can phone in your order and take up colleagues on offer to pick it up? Or write them out a specific list of exactly what you want? Also, my style would be to call doctor’s office again and/or leave more urgent message, but not everyone is comfortable doing this, it’s just a thought. Take care.
