My persian is neutered so he doesn’t spray. But I have feral cats living in my neighbourhood. There are 3 unneutered males in the neighbourhood and since I live in the corner lot I have to deal with all the problems *sighs* T~T

Their poop, hunger, and fights. My garden is their habitat for short. I’m okay dealing with their food since some of them are fine with humans.. But the spraying and pooping~ no good. The fighting? WORSE. They pee all over and one week, they fight at least twice. I have a porch and they pee on the table, pee in my cat’s outside cage.. spray on the walls. And oops they just peed on our broom. They poop on the grass T~T
It really just smells horrid. I wonder if there are anything I can do? Because I’m tired already with my mom scolding me for their deeds T-T
Oh and we’re spaying one of the tamed ferals.
Will spraying stuff like lemon spray or sthg stronf help? Any suggestions?

The only thing that will truly help with the bad behaviour will be to neuter them all.. otherwise you’ll continue to have these issues and more and more cats will be born in the surrounding area.. check to see if there’s a TNR programme charity in your area

If you are in the USA Alley Cat Allies is a non-profit that has chapters in many parts of the country that can assist with TNR. They recently helped me trap 8 cats at my house in one day. Then they took them all in to a local clinic for spay/neuter and basic checkup and shots. All the cats have been released back to the neighborhood but this reduces the spraying, new kittens and aggression among the cats.

KuruKuku, Buttons and TrufflesMom are right, there are many TNR groups in most cities, even small towns. I found one by asking at a shelter and was referred to the local chapter of Concerned Citizens for Animals (CCA). I have also used Animal Allies and a local county’s Spay/Neuter clinic. It helps those who cannot pay anything and has minimal charges for those who can.
When I moved here 15 years ago, there were several feral cat colonies nearby. CCA helped me trap the cats and gave me vouchers for the cost of the spay/neuter on each one. There is one wonderful vet (and there may be more) who accepts the vouchers. Since that time I’ve been feeding homeless cats in the neighborhood and my current count is 28. If a “new” cat arrives, it gets taken to the vet ASAP.

Unfortunately, there still are feral cats around here and likely always will be but we must keep trying. If you’re persistent, you will be able to find people to help you. Best wishes, Dell
