For those of you who may be interested, there’s an eagle cam at Decorah, Iowa, watching a nest of eggs ready to hatch within the next couple of days.

http://www.raptorresource.org (then use the bird cam button to get to the nest)

Several of us at work are following this and hoping to see the eaglets when they hatch.

Thanks LK! Do you know how many eggs are there? Guess it’s still pretty cold; mama keeps pulling the nest tighter. I could watch this all day!

There are 3 eggs in the nest. Don’t know whether that is the momma or poppa since they have been changing to each sit on the nest. I think the temp is about 40 degrees there this morning. Joan, that’s my problem with working…I’d rather be watching what’s going on with the eagles. LOL I want to have it on full screen all the time, but I have to do my computer work. Darn!

True, mama could be out getting brekkie for herself…or daddy. At any rate, top notch parenting going on here! I was streaming a radio station but turned it off in favor of listening to nature. I have a few other internet tabs open so I’m keeping this one on all day!

Oh and duh, the weather is next to the cam!

Almost time for lunch and the office manager set up the laptop used for webcam broadcasts for audit education to our TV to stream the eagle cam. We’ll be able to see the eagles during lunch break.

Also, after going to “bird cam” you can go to Upstream button and get the eagle cam and below that is lots of information about the eagle pair and their nest.

They did a “changing of the guard” a little while ago. Amazing! I love having the volume up & hearing nature – various birds, the wind…

Thought I saw little holes in 2 of them when parents traded places a little while ago.

Nope, nothing yet. Thought there was a possibility earlier when both of them were there, then both were there just a short time later. Guessing the mate is not too far away. Sure looks (& sounds) windy there!

Ooh… I love Eagles! Thanks for the info.. The bears seem to be leaving the den so this will be a fun diversion!

We have a little eaglet this morning! And it looks like another egg has a hole pecked in it. The little one is a fluffy gray baby and is under the mother at the moment. When the eagles trade places or stand up to move around, the camera pans in really close to get a good look of the eaglet.

I just saw the baby, and the hole in the other egg. It is interesting to see how much bigger the mother is than the father, he takes up much less room on the nest. Last night I was watching him sleep, beak planted in the nesting material!

Looks like dinner has arrived, and parent fed baby a little before settling over it and the remaining 2 eggs.
