I just have a question about the posts on declawing cats on the help with the kitten trouble…. I honestly have my own cat who was declawed at an older age of 4 she shows no signs of pain, she is the “perfect patient” according to her vet, she is an amazing customer according to our new cat groomer, she has never bit or tried to purposely harm any person since we got her declawed and she shows no signs of pain or discomfort nor has her personality changed from before the declawing… I was just wondering why it was said that every cat that is declawed becomes aggressive and is in constant discomfort and that if your going to declaw your cat you should just get rid of them…. I’m sorry if this upsets some people I just would like to share my story on it for the people that do want to declaw their cats know that it can go either way, I’m guessing on how the surgery was done and/or how the cat heals from the surgery and reacts to it.

P.S. I’m more than willing to answer any questions on this matter as to how my cat has been since the surgery and that everybody is entitled to their own opinions:D thank you

    Hi Ashley,

There are two subjects we are not suppose to discuss in these forums, one is whether it’s okay to allow your cat access to the outdoors, and the other is declawing. They are listed in the “Read before posting” section.

In the past both those topics have become

      VERY

heated and resulted in some less than pleasant things being said. Although we all have opinions on whether or not cats should be declawed or allowed outside, we don’t discuss them here.

There are a lot of other places to find out more about either subject.

Hi Ashley .. CBM is correct Declawing is a banded subject the only reason the last topic wasn’t closed immediately was because I wanted to make sure the member knew the full magnatude of the declawing process..

It will always be a heated topic in this site that will never change.. I will say one thing cats are incredible at hiding signs of discomfort and pain .. One thing is or sure all Declawed cats if they get to senior statues will develop joint issues it’s just a fact as declawing changes the cats walking gait even a tiny amount that’s not visible to us can make a massive difference to the cat ..

So I will now close this post ..
