Hi everyone,
Just got our new member of the family yesterday: Loki, an 8 week old Siberian male.
He was fine in the carrier on the fairly long drive back here (The occasional meows but otherwise sleepy.) but back at home here he started off by not coming out of his carrier for ages and then a few hours later when he’d got a little braver and we’d given him time to explore at his own pace, he started to cry constantly.
Seemed to want attention and became quiet and seemingly contented when sitting with my hubby or myself but then wanted to get down and started crying again.
I know he’s missing his mother, siblings and home but I’m concerened there’s something wrong in addition to that.
He’s been playing a little, sleeping on and off this morning and has eaten some wet food and drank water so I’m hoping it’s nothing physical,
This morning he’s taken to shrieking at the top of his little lungs (Incredible noise for such a little thing!) and can’t seem to be consoled.
We’ve got him only in one room, nice soft bed places for him to hide away in, a litter box which we think he’s used but not seen him using, and some new toys which we’re letting him choose in his own time.
I had no sleep last night as he was awake crying the vast majority of the time and also I’m really worried about his poor little throat!
Hope you guys can give me some advice please? Excuse the rambling but I’m worried about my new little boy and want the best for him.
Thanks! Leah.
