Good morning all! Some of you may remember my post (NOVEL…haha) about the 4 orphans I took in about 5 weeks ago.

Well, little Emily has recovered by leaps and bounds. She is even well enough to be with her sisters!!! YAY!!! One of her problems was an eye infection. It wasn’t determined whether it was conjuntivitis or something else, but we treated with antibiotic ointment and she was taking oral antibiotics for the virus she had. Her eye seemed to be getting better, there was less and less discharge and she was able to open it more and more every day. However, about 3 days ago I noticed what I thought was a big piece of mucous covering her eye. I tried to remove it and realized that it was an actual film over her eye. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? It is a cloudy circle right over the middle of her eye. She doesn’t have any discharge and she doesn’t favor it at all anymore, so apparently it doesnt bother her. I am worried about it though.

She is playful, she is eating, voiding normally, and she is only 5 ounces behind her littermates now. (Not bad considering she lost 12 days being sick.

I know the vet is so limited when they are this small so I am not sure what else the vet could do for her, so I thought I would ask if anyone else had any ideas.

Thanks in advance! You guys are the best!!!

Aww…maybe a cataract/glaucoma? I would have vet check out soon.

I was thinking possible cataract too Jeankit. 🙁 It doesnt seem to bother her at all, so I am going to wait until our appointment in 2 weeks and I will bring it to the vets attention.

I hate that she pulled through but might still have some long-term problems. My poor baby.

Aw, scritches for little survivor Emily. My sis’s kit was an Emily too but a floofie tortie girl named after Emile Zola or EZ!

I recently googled “cloudy eye in cats” and started reading. (There was a cat I really liked for adoption that had a cloudy eye.) There were several possibilities some of which were serious. I’d see a vet asap. My vet has said that you need to be very careful with their eyes and take any problems seriously. Good luck. (The pretty girl kitty in my avatar is an Emily.)

I’d take her to the vet asap too. I would be worried about a possible abscess, you want to rule that out before everything else.
