Usually I am able to stop him before he stimulated him to poo, but Cloud managed to eat Otters poo…. Should I be concerned? Otter has been having diarrhea from the formula being too rich, which I am working on. Usually Cloud will just lick him a little bit, and when I grab Otter he poops. But this time it was too quick. Cloud has been vaccinated with the 4 in 1, but nothing else :

As long ad you regularly worm them and they’re vaccinated other than it being gross it should be no harm… Its simple clouds way of acting like mommy cat… For so reason so male cats are very maternal…. When otter gets a little older the chances of this happening again will reduce.. Most of the time the mother cat will eat the poo so as not too leave a smell around some cats are.very sensitive to smells and are neat freaks May be cloud is a bit of a neat freak 🙂

I know buttons has OCD with his litter tray he only uses it immediately after he seen me clean it… He’s very bad for hanging around my feet he gives a little cry and i know he wants to use the tray so its my job to then clean it so he can use it… Sometimes there isn’t even anything in the tray but its like he wants to watch me clean it to make absolute sure its clean… Trust me to have a disabled cat that has OCD….. 🙂

Oh lol, sweet Cloud and Buttons, the boy neat freaks. I love how cats look after themselves 🙂

I have one of those covered boxes for Tzeetzee, but she manages to kick out some of the litter when she goes to the loo. She would watch me sweep the floor with a broom, and now mimics me, after she’s done with her business she will sweep the floor with her little paws collecting the litter. I thought it was her letting me know she wasn’t happy about the litter, but I try to keep it spotless and completely change it on a regular basis, so it’s probably a little bit of her OCD coming through 🙂

Hmmm, I know cats are neat freaks but I think it’s probably because leaving spoor (feces) around in the wild will attract predators to the ‘nest’ where the vulnerable kittens, who often can’t move or see yet, would be easy prey. It’s the same reason that cats (hopefully) instinctually bury their pooh in the litter tray (although some are more careful than others…) So yes, it is pretty gross, but it’s nature’s way. Male cats can be humungously maternal but only if they’re neutered — you need to be very careful letting any un-neutered male tom be around kittens, they can be very dangerous. (Not always true, my Jasper, who began life as a stray tom, was sweet to kittens but I would still never let him be around them unsupervised, just in case.)

I guess I got Cloud neutered right in time then! Thanks guys, they love each other so much. I was appreciative that Cloud was helping me out but I never wanted it to go that far! Gross ):
