The Mice Cookies really are cute. I don’t think I’ve ever had Clove Cookies but they sound delicious. I bet they smell great while they’re baking!

GD’s holiday nuts recipe sounded so yummy, I bookmarked it as a favourite. Here it is again, with apologies to GD:

“Okay, here’s the recipe for the nuts I’m thinking of taking to GG’s parents’ house. They’re easy and tasty!

    Ingredients for spice mix:

    2 tablespoons sugar

    3/4 teaspoon kosher salt

    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    1/8 teaspoon allspice

    Ingredients for glaze:

    1 tablespoon water

    2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1 teaspoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon canola or corn oil

As well as 2 cups of pecan, almond or walnut halves. I usually combine walnuts and pecans.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread nuts on baking sheet and toast 6 minutes or until fragrant and their color deepens slightly.

In medium-sized bowl, stir together spice mix.

In saucepan, combine glaze ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly.

Stir in toasted nuts and continue to stir until all nuts are shiny and the liquid is gone (about 1-2 min).

Move glazed nuts to mixing bowl, sprinkle on spice mix and toss well to coat.

Spread coated nuts on a cookie sheet and return them to the oven for 4 minutes. Check regularly to make sure they don’t burn.

    Remove and let cool.”

No apologies necessary – I’m glad you found it! I’m going to be making them this year, too, to give out to friends.

I have only had Christmas at my house for the past couple of years, since the addition to our house allows more than 2 people to sit down and eat! One year I made ice cream cookie sandwiches – easy and delicious, and last year I made Whoopie Pies. This year I was thinking of making an ice cream pie – there’s a recipe printed on an ice cream container.

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Vodka Christmas Cake recipe so here goes. Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!)

1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1…bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit.

Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality.

Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the Vodka. Now ship shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don’t forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat. -Hub911.com

I had to reply that I tried GD’s holiday nuts and those are great! And so easy! I made them to take on a roadtrip to a tailgate and we started sampling in the car and decided not to share once we arrived. This one is going in my favorites file.
