Already Christmas Day where you are, moonshadow! (They announced that on the radio – they are tracking Santa. Now he’s reached Fiji…).
The sun is coming up slowly (sky lighter, not yet sunrise) so if KJ joins us at all it will be this evening, but I suspect that she may be too busy.
In many Catholic countries and emigrant communities, FISH and seafood are the centrepiece, as there is no meat (in the Catholic sense) on the table on the 24th, but at the same time it is festive, not a fast day in the mournful or contemplative sense. This is the case in Italy, in Portugal and is also the case in Poland, and I’m sure some daily kitteners know other places. I much prefer fishy things, as does Livia…
Cats may love the excitement, or find it frightening, and I’m sure all daily kitteners know that poinsettas are poisonous to cats, and it is REALLY not good for them to eat tinsel. But empty boxes and tissue paper are WONDERFUL toys.
Do any here give gifts to their cats? Livia seems to prefer playing with balls made from balled-up paper and I made her a fun toy with some string and an unused rubber plug (which never fit the washbasin).
